    Question Doing pull-ups/Neck pain

    Hello,

    I was doing my daily pull-ups in the morning yesterday. After about 5 pull-ups I felt a strain in my neck and now my neck hurts like crazy.

    I get a strong pain when I try to turn my head. Applied bengay and ice pack & its subsided but still fee pain.

    No, I did not warm up for pullups. What are some warm ups for this excerise.

    Should I go see a doctor?

    The same problem has happened to me a couple of times while doing chins. The pain will most likely go away in 2-4 days. Don't bother seeing a doctor unless you think it is necessary. I never saw a doctor and I was fine.

    today is day 3 and the pain is still slightly there after I've dump a ton of ben gay on my neck.

    I believe the pain will fade totally after a few days.


    Most importantly, how do I prevent this from happening again?

    if it is strained, it will take anywhere from 1-6weeks before you can start adding pressure to it he area.
