    I don't believe bodybuilding has anything to do with acne.

    However, if your'e experiencing serious acne, consult your doctor about accutane. When I was a teen, I had acne. I took this stuff for a few months and it basically changed my life. Major improvements in your self esteem and confidence. It is guaranteed to clear up your skin, but be prepared to experience some permanent side effects. Chapstick (or similar) is something you will need EVERY day for the rest of your life. Moisutizing your face is something you will have to do every day for the rest of your life. While taking accutane, your skin will get ridiculously dry and your lips chapped like never before. When it's all over though, it's worth it.

    EDIT: You don't just buy accutane either. You must get bloodwork done and have your doctor prescribe it. Make sure you're serious about bloodwork appointments as this stuff will cause your cholesterol to shoot up quickly. I had to go off of it for 1 month due to high cholesterol levels.

    If you've got cystic acne, benzoyl peroxide won't work. Here are some things that will help:

    1) go tanning once a week
    2) avoid all moisturizers and oil based skin products
    3) wash twice a day
    4) don't sit around in your gym clothes after you're done working out
    5) sleep near a fan or open window so you don't sweat all night

    Neutrogena makes a good bodywash called "Body Clear" that helps. You can also use Proactiv refining mask for bigger or infected areas.

    You'll never see a pro with acne. They use GH, they get facials performed on their back/shoulders, they are constantly tanning, etc.

    I've always had heat pimples for years and benzoyl peroxide used PWO has worked great for me. You can get it OTC or from your doctor in prescription strength.

    yeah, they have the money and time to spend on their bodies because their bodies are their work. normal people with jobs, get a zit, **** sucks, but we get over it. a bb with a zit freaks out before a competition, so its much more of an impact to them.

    yeah, im thinking about tanning to get rid of acne cause in the summer when i go to the beach a lot i dont get ANY acne, then in the winter when im pale i get acne from no sun exposure

    Accutane should be your very last resort. Frequent a tanning salon, shower twice daily, wash your face periodically throughout the day, and use Proactiv regularly. Hell, sitting in a sauna for 10-15 minutes a few times a week wouldn't hurt either. Sweating clears your pores.

    Got lucky in this department. I have never once bought any sort of acne treatment, even during puberty. I worried about when I first used but nothing ever happened. Anybody else never have any problems with acne? Always wondered how common this was.

    Here are some other things for acne. Most of it is cause by hormonal problems, so you need to attack it internally, not externally like half of the products on the market.

    vitamin A is great for acne. Taken in high doses it is very similar to using accutane(which is based on vitamin A anyway). We are talking high doses, like 100,000mg for only a few weeks as it can be toxic after prolonged use.
    Even at a lowered dose it is great for maintaing healthy skin.

    Vitamin B5 is the other good one. This helps reduce excess oil secretion, but again must be taken in high doses, although it is not toxic so safe to do so. Take about 20g a day for a few weeks and see how you go.

    Zinc is also great for your skin. Don't take high doses for too long though.

    Rofl, you would have probably have renal and liver failure at 100 grams of vitamin a per day. Do not do this. You probably meant 100,000 IU - still not somthing I would recomend but is at least a little more sane.

    i'm currently taking oxytetracycline. it's an antibiotic that helps get rid of mild/moderate acne. i've been on it 3 weeks and have seen really good results so far.

    but that's mainly down to puberty not weight lifting..

    I always hear people talking about washing their face with soap and things. I never wash my face with soap etc or in the shower. I only rinse it with water in the mornings and in the shower and I don;'t have a single zit or pimple.

    Even in my teens I never had bad acne. Lucky maybe? Just the odd pimple here and there.

    PS: from what I have observed, I would suggest guys keep their hair short and clean! Usually guys with bad acne have long oily hair! They are constantly wiping their hair out of their eyes and most importantly.....don't scratch in your face!!!
