Motivation
My biggest problem is staying motivated. I want to lift because I am tired of the way I look, but I just can't get myself to work out everyday. Any advice?
Also, is it better to lift with someone or by yourself? And for a beginner, how often should I work out...
Any other advice for a beginner, please message me so I know as much as I can.

Everyday would be overtraining, 3 days, maybe 4 would be good enough for a begginer.
When you say you are tired of the way you look, is that because you are over or under weight?
and what are yor goals?

To get your self motivated do these steps:
1) Stand in front of the mirror
2) take off your shirt
3) Jiggle your fat
4) Now go to the gym
Seems to work

Well mostly I'm tired of the way I look because I have little amount of muscle, and I want a more toned stomach. It's not that I'm ridiculously fat, just there is not tone to my stomach anymore.

yea 3 or 4 days would be ideal for you.....as for lifting with someone or solo is total preference.....i mix it up i like to lift chest, shoulders days with a partner for weight but other days for back and arms i tend to like to lift by myself with my ipod blasting.....i seem to be distracted a lot when other people are there

look in the mirror.
Nuff said.
If you REALLY dislike what you look like then get up look in the mirror, cloths off in the bathroom (no homo), and just think about what people would say if they saw your frame or whatever. Then get resolve to fix it.
trust me bbing is like a drug you start out disliking it and then you get to the point if you miss a day at the gym you feel like **** and get pissed off. I look forward to gym time.

You're a small piece of **** and when girls look at you they are disgusted and immediately try to find someone who's actually worthy of being called a man. You disgust me, you sad, tiny excuse for a human being.
There you go. <3

yeah that works wonders too, forgot about that lol.
i.e hot girl remarks on your great gains.
listen if you can't respect yourself then no one is going to respect you, you want to be a little weak **** all your life then go sit your ass back down in the chair with a bunch of junk food playing wow until you pass out. or you can take ahold of the one thing that will only ever truly be yours and improve it, respect it, and watch others respect it. you want to be the 30 y.o virgin playing video games in his moms basement or the guy with a nice family/gf/wife looking good and feeling better? Get off your ass.
( there you go )
edit: lol the ****er above me beat me to it haha quick on the gun

Well even though I get the point of your reply, I don't play wow, i don't eat junk food, and I'm not a virgin.

that wasn't for you, bud thats mine.
no im not a virgin but that still motivates me.
the point being is you need to take what you don't like about yourself and make fun of it.
Arnold had some small legs, so he wore shorts to show them off so he was embarrassed into working them out hard and getting a better looking leg

Make it a habit, not an option. Better yet, make it a lifestyle, not a hobby. Think about lifting when you can't be lifting. How much more weight you're going to put up next time, how much better you're going to look. Once you start to see real results you'll be hooked.

probably like a 8 lb gain or so. Thats if you work hard and eat like an animal. Plus it all depends how hard you work and how bad you want it, but yea 8 lbs and hopefully at 6 months it would be mostly muscle.

oh and too keep yourself motivated..just tell your self you don't like the way you look..and you already said your tired of the way you look..that should motivate you..once you see gains, you'll be hooked..and the others are right, the girls are a big motivation when they see your getting somewhere.

seriously, if you make it a routine to go to the gym for like 2-4 weeks, then you will go out of habit after that. all you need is to do is power through these couple of weeks, even if it is hard. people say take caffine...i dont suggest it. ive done it before, and its nice casue you stay pumped for longer. but the ONE day you run out, you feel dead and you cant lift for crap. its a lot healthier to get pumped naturally (music or thinking of something that pisses you off)
i found that when i work out with people a LITTLE stronger then me, i get the best workout. why? casue they do a certian weight, and you try to copy it. its like they are pushing you a little past your limit. when your by yourself, its hard to increase when you do weight you KNOW you can do. you gotta keep trying to do the weight you cant do, and eventually, youll get it.
