Debbie Chavarria is my Mom's sister. Her husband Roy is one of two UPS drivers on the Island. They have a son (my cousin) Matthew who is probably around 14 now. They live on Mission Rd.
My Mom graduated from Kodiak HS in 1962. My Granddad lived there most of his later life and worked at one of the canneries. I made my first trip there last summer and hope to get back up there again soon.
What's the weather like now??
BTW, I believe those pics came just outside of Anchorage. I have cousins and Aunt/Uncle there too.

haha...how do you think the weather is lol.
Well all around alaska is completely different around this time then it always is....there is not a trace of snow on the ground...we got one good snow this year so far...and the rest of the time its just raining.
Anchorage, Wasilla...everywhere melted. It sucks.

This is North Fork Eagle River about 6 miles back in the valley. Pretty nice hike on a good day. There were so many blueberries out there. We picked a couple of gallons for a snack.
We had to bath in citronella to keep the mosquitoes off at night.

Kool, my moms going to UAA.
Hunting is amazing on Kodiak...depending on where you go.
I went on a couple bear hunts but didnt get one. So im waiting for next year to get my 10' Kodiak Grizz. And i have yet to shoot a nice buck, although i did see a beautiful one earlier on.
We got buffalo, but you gotta talk to a certain guy, due to the fact that he owns them.
Cept unlike the mainland, theres no moose, Elk, or caribou or anythin like that here

Is that in the Chugach?
My dad and I went to AK for a week last summer to go salmon fishing and it was gorgeous...we're thinking of making it a yearly trip.
