Malcolm X: Dating Advice from a notorious Asskicker

In life I have two role models and one of them happens to be Malcolm X. I admire him for how he was able to change his life around completely. He also proved that one man can in fact make a difference. Truth is, there's not one thing I can think of that he didn't kick ass at. His comments regarding women and dating are just as valuable. Just some quotes directly said by him.

- It seems that some women love to be exploited. When they are not exploited, they exploit the man.

- Always, every now and then, I had given her a hard time, just to keep her in line. Every once in a while a woman seems to need, in fact wants this, too.

- I'd have too much experience that women were only tricky, deceitful, untrustworthy flesh. I had seen too many men ruined, or at least tied down, or in some other way messed up by women.

- To tell a woman not to talk too much was like telling Jesse James not to carry a gun.

- The worst thing in the world was to have the wrong woman.

- I had talked to too many prostitutes and mistresses. They knew more about a whole lot of husbands than the wives of those husbands did. The wives always filled their husbands' ears so full of wife complaints that it wasn't the wives, it was the prostitutes and mistresses who heard the husbands' innermost problems and secrets. They thought of him, and comforted him, and that included listening to him, and so he would tell them everything.

- All of that Hollywood stuff! Like these women wanting men to pick them up and carry them across thresholds and some of them weigh more than you do. I don't know how many marriage breakups are caused by these movie and television-addicted women experiencing some bouquets and kissing and hugging and being swept out like Cinderella for dinner and dancing - then getting mad when a poor, scraggly husband comes in tired and sweaty from working like a dog all day, looking for some food.

- I will never forget one [of the sisters] exclaim, "You got him!" That's like I was telling you, the nature of women. She'd got me. That's part of why I never have been able to shake it out of my mind that she knew something - all the time. Maybe she did get me!

He had a successful and loving marriage with his wife until he was killed when he realized white people weren't the devil.

Yeah, when he was in the Nation of Islam. He separated himself from that organization, and was later killed by them for opposing their views. White people aren't the devil, I love white people.

The last part about his assasination is debatable, but since most people our age know little about him...
Read his history. He was a strong leader of the civil rights movement. And he did say some messed up things about white people, and was a racist during his early time in the Nation of Islam. But there is more to that. After his Hodge, Malcom X realized that Islam was not meant to be a racist religion. So in a way, he was giving up the Nation of Islam (the religious Black Power racist Muslims, like Farakhan), but still fought the power for his people as a Muslim. Post-Hodge Malcom X was not a racist.

A lot of Americans view Islam's treatment of woman as very sexist and degrading, with a few exceptions. I think most old religions are like this anyway, but Islam has always been one of the worst offenders in a secular view, even if they claim these are cultural gender roles.

But if you ever listened to an X speech from back in the day, some of them are very moving. He advocated the most militant equal-rights movement and called for the Blacks to fix their own problems. His better moments came when he told the Blacks to stop sitting down to protest, but to stand up and take aggresive action instead.
