Mild knee pain - Can I deadlift?

My knee has been bugging me recently, it cracks a little more and i feel some pain when im doing a leg curl movement isometrically (like using the ground as resistance while im sitting) (although strangely i have done some light leg curls and i have no pain).
Ive done deadlifts a couple days ago and they seemed fine (warmed up well, no pain while doing them, or after)
However the slight pain is still there and im wondering if ANY leg work could be aggravating it. Im not doing squats for the moment, but id hate it if it prevented me from doing so. So my question is, is deadlifting safe? Or should I really try to get rid of the pain first....

You sound like your doing everything right, stretch, good warm up, Throw some ice on it for 20 mins before and after, might be inflammed, cant hurt
