Trainer worth it?

So I joined up at golds and a trainer called me up and said hey you wanna come hang out and ill give you an evaluation so I said hey sure. Turns out in the end all he wanted to do was get me to sign up for a program and me pay him money. He was like a car salesman trying so hard but i wouldnt sign. Is it worth it to actually get a trainer?

A good trainer or coach is always very good but this guy sounds like a chump.

Speaking from experience, my vote leans toward a big NO.
