Concrete dieting plan help for wieght loss and muscle building.

So I finally taking the plunge to reshape my body but need a little help. A little background. Getting married soon so pushed me to take the plunge as well being inspired by a lot celebrity stories although different from average person as they have top personal chefs and trainers. I was really in shape in my late teens and early 20s and went gym a lot. Over the years life and illness haven't had the chance or will to go back. I've retained my bulk but lost strength and put on some fat.

As for Diet be first time I've ever had to and I've never understood the big fuss until now. There's to much information and to much contradictory things. I thought I'd go with Paleo Diet as i get to eliminate a lot things like processed foods dairy and wheat(gluten) products.

I've used bunch templates online and come up with a very loose idea of what i should be eating. I've already cut out sugars/processed foods and cut out sweets snack and fizzy drinks and been drinking strictly water. I've completely over hurled my shopping list for the month.

I'm using MFP app to track both food intake about 1800 calories and workouts.

My main concern is i feel like doing things wrong. Some sites say eating rice and oatmeal etc is good other sites say avoid these. Is there a better way to make plan to fit my needs.

I want to loose as much weight as possible before wedding in two months but I'll continue diet/workout till however long it takes to achieve my goal and also for my own personal health.
I'm planning to do a 6 week workout with 1 rest day.

Any help in right direction would be greatly appreciated.

You're going to find contradictory information here too, depending on whom you choose to listen to.

I don't know on which planet oatmeal and rice are considered to be 'bad' food choices; both are bodybuilding staple foods, and have been ever since the days of Eugen Sandow. And 'Paleo' is universally panned by those who understand and follow the actual science behind nutrition rather than falling prey to 'cult' nonsense.

How about just using your common sense and good judgment, then for a month stick to whatever plan you decide to follow, and then at that time, see where you're at?

Unfortunatly i don't much about dieting to use "common sense". I just wanted to get it right from the start. I'll make some changes by putting back rice and oats.

    Thanks
