    How to get my RM?

    Guys,

    Need advice on the following routine I used to get my barbell bench press RM

    warm up
    8xbar
    5x135lbs
    5x 165lbs
    5x 175 lbs
    3x 195 lbs
    3x 210 lbs
    1x 215 lbs

    I tried going up but failed and I move on. What do you think?

    If this is what you are doing when maxing out, you may want to go to singles earlier. If your max is near 215 then you don't need to do 210 and 195 three times each. You're tiring yourself out this way.

    If this is part of your training it looks good... but if your just testing your max bench I agree go to singles sooner
