Are my arms going to get too big?

Hey all.. If I work my arms twice a week and my major bodyparts once a week(my arms are sort of lagging behind my other bodyparts) are my arms going to get too big? Reason I ask this is because the arms recover faster then the other bodyparts due to them being smaller.

currently im going to do this split for awhile:

    Tuesday: Triceps/Biceps
    Wednesday: Rest
    Thursday: Back/Shoulders
    Friday: Triceps/Biceps

    Sun: rest

any suggestions or help please; thanks.

i guess you don't understand yet that your arms get worked indirectly when you do larger parts such as your back and chest...

so it is better to only work your arms individually ONCE a week... if you do it twice a week you will be overtraining...

i would recommend doing biceps just once a week, i think
you should also only workout shoulders once a week.
I can not stress this enough: do not neglect your legs.
Work them out to maximum intenity once a week
you could even give them their own day.

The mentality I had before is what you just mentioned; and as a result they became sticks.. I understand they get worked a little but that is not even close enough.. they get worked just about as much as a warm-up set gets worked; clearly not even close enough and this is also why I made the days I work my arms AFTER the major bodyparts so by the time I'm working the major bodyparts again the little muscles have already full restored and don't really get much from any ways they get touched indirectly.

I am not going to work legs for about a month.. I am doing this first to allow my arms to get extra shock so they'd catch up to the other bodyparts(while making decent improvements in other parts); once this is settled I will return to normal and add in legs.. as it is right now I can't focus on legs and my legs are already kind of huge and I hardly need ot think about the look of huge legs and skinny arms lol... point is; once my arms are large enough I'm moving back.

i'd just stick with your normal routine... and just cut down to 1 arm day a week

who cares if ur legs get bigger a little disproportianate to ur upper body...

i doubt it will be that much of a difference... the squats will help you with Growth hormone and increase the rate at which your upper body grows...

just cut down to 1 arm day a week and over time they will catch up...

All this overtraining stuff is exaggerated.Sure if your an ectomorph and hardgainer then you keep your training as low as possible because you need to be eating allt he time. However in any other case ,as long as your diet is in order than you can train arms twice a week within reason if they are lagging. I suggest adding in an extra arms workout with reduced sets , say a total of 8 sets but keeping the intensity extremly high either after training back or on a seperate day. You dont need to train shoulders twice a week though.

reason i put in the second day for shoulders is shoulders are more of an afterthought once I'm done Chest or Back so i am not going to give 1 full hour to training shoulders.. maybe 20-30 minutes at most so I put that extra day in there "just in case" I feel I did not completely destroy the shoulders on the first day.

Haha that's true they can't get too big. Well for sets, I am planning about 10-15 sets but I don't do things this officially I make ever set intense and proper and by the end I should know if I have completely destroyed a certain muscle .. if it is destroyed I finish if I feel it could take some more beating I'll go through a bit more.

    Damn.. 10-15 sets. Thats alot

As volume goes up intensity goes down. I highly doubt you can do 15 sets at full intensity.

Maybe you should try lowering your sets, you could be overtraining your arms right now.

This is true guys but it truly depends; sometimes I feel like I have abolished my muscle after 9-12 so I stop right there; but sometimes I feel I could pull out 1-3 more sets before the muscle is completely destroyed so I do them anyways.. But I agree with you that intensity is key; I don't look at how much sets untill the end I mainly make sure I give high intensity and by the end judge if it is enough or not.

agrreed. 6-9 sets is all i do for tris and bis( 6-9 for each part)

gmav, i do agree with you man that sometimes i feel like i can squueze out some more sets even if my muscle feels totally exhausted. sometimes i will do 12( a little shock for the arms), but for the most part, hit em with that high intensity, work em hard, and you wont be able to move ya arms.
