Now I really want to see every NFL player do this!!!!!
"Atlanta Falcons running back Warrick Dunn, a Baton Rouge native, issued a challenge to every NFL player except those on the Saints to donate 5,000 dollars to the relief efforts."
This is a quote from the Associated Press, and all I have to say in response is that IF not one NFL player(except for the Saints) can contribute, then there is somethin wrong here. If an everyday schmo can donate 100 bucks to the Red Cross, than why cant a high profile athlete who makes millions donate such a small amount to people who are literally dying like flys.

You seem to think that asking someone for 5 grand is a walk in the park. It's not gonna happen, some guys will donate, others won't. That's life.

of course players in the NFL make big bucks, but its not like $5k is nothing. Warrick Dunn makes a nice buck, but you gotta consider that NFL salaries aren't that "HIGH", obviously they do get a lot more then the average schmo, but they dont get the big bucks that players in the NBA , MLB do.
The average NFL player makes $650,000/year.. thats before taxes. That's a good living, but they dont get the "MILLIONS" that people think they actually do get.
Only the top top players at each position make the millions and even then it aint even close to the NBA/MLB
Jerome Bettis - 1 million
Corey Dillon - 1 million base salary
Tiki Barber - 4 million
Compared to us, thats big money, but plz dont act like they got trillions of dollars in their back pockets.
NBA median salary 3.5 million
Jason collins 1.3 million....
Shaq 20 million
MLb
AROD 25 million

In NFL contracts, the only guaranteed money are signing bonuses. Everything else, including salaries, can be re-negotiated at anytime.
But to the point of the thread, I don't expect anyone to give, regardless of their income. Would it be nice if all the millionaires and billionaires in this country forked over all the cash needed for the relief effort? Sure, but only by their choice. If not, then where do you draw the line? Many of you make more money than I do. Better grab your checkbooks...
