    Gut23's Shock Therapy Log

I am using Pure Energy’s log layout because it is so comprehensive and easy to follow. If anyone has any feedback or can offer any help please chime in at any time.

    Age: 25

    Sex: Male

    Height: 5ft 10 inches

    Weight: 179

    Bodyfat: 10.5%

    Bodytype: Ectomorph

    Measurements:

    Neck: 16
    Chest: 44
    Bi unflexed: 16
    Bi flexed: 16.5
    Forearms: 12.75
    Waist: 33
    Quads: 24
    Calves: 16.5

    Prohormone/Steroid use:
    None. Just natty test boosters.

    Training experience:
I have been seriously training for about 5 years now and trained on and off before that starting in high school for football. I have jumped from 150 pounds 5 years ago to the 179 I am at now with very little cutting, just clean bulking most of the time. I tend to gain roughly 5 clean pounds per year with minimal body fat increase. I haven’t been able to increase my weight now for the last 6 months and am getting frustrated. I think it’s because my intensity in the gym is down. I know it can’t be calories because I am getting 3200 clean calories in 5-6 meals per day. I haven’t used many stims lately and that may be contributing to the problem. I am hoping this shock therapy will help with the intensity issue.

    Injuries:
Arthroscopic surgery on left knee from football injury in high school

    Training Schedule/Protocol:
5 days a week. Workouts usually last around 1 to 1.25 hours.

    Sun: Off
    Mon: Chest
    Tue: Bi/Tri
    Wed: Legs/Forearms
    Thu: Off
    Fri: shoulders
    Sat: Back

    Cardio Schedule/Protocol:
I mountain bike twice per week and run on the treadmill once per week.

    Current supplements:
Substance Vanilla Bean protein powder (sometimes the watermelon too, this stuff is delicious)
    Animal Pak Multivitamin
Switch between Storm and Cre-Ethyl Thunder each month to keep things switched up
    Costco brand fish oil

    Current Diet:
350g Protein daily, around half from Substance
    Buffalo
    Turkey
    Chicken
    Eggs
    Oats
    Rice
    Tuna
    Salmon
    Barley
    Fruits and veggies
Whole grain bread and rye bread (good amount of lignans)

Prescription/Recreational drugs: celebrex for occasional inflammation.

    Supplement history:
I respond well to creatine and have gained some size off of the two I mentioned earlier. Creatine mono bloats me too much and causes discomfort. Natty test boosters give me a little extra edge and aggression in the gym, but not enough to make a huge difference. EAAs are great to supplement with, but they are pricey, so I only use them once in awhile. Stims work well for me and I usually only need a half dose to feel wired, so I am hoping this product will knock my socks off and let me trash the gym hard.

My first dose of Shock therapy will be later today.

    http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/univ/shock.html
Here is the info about it from bb.com:

(It is 29.99 for 50 servings)

If you are looking for a pre-workout shake that will help power you up for the gym and make you feel like hitting the plates, wait no longer. The nitric oxide (NO) activators, creatine and stimulants in this formula will energize you while helping to make you look more vascular and gain size. Shock Therapy can actually motivate you to get into the gym and hit the weights! Unlike many of the other pre-workout NO products on the market, we include an antioxidant complex that is essential when taking nitric oxide stimulating ingredients, due to their oxidative nature on human cells. Now you can have the "perpetual pump," the intense workout you crave, and keep your body safe from the free radicals that are produced as a side effect of the nitric oxide activation process.

Why should you choose Universal Nutrition's Shock Therapy? It Works. If you want to get energized and motivated in the gym, Shock Therapy is for you. This formula will make for some very intense workouts that will help you put up more weight and will ultimately result in mass gains. Your body will feel pumped all day from the blood rushing to your muscle tissue delivering needed nutrients for real growth. We don't use any sugar so there is no worry about fat gains. We use the best ingredients, from creatine all the way to our antioxidant blend. You won't find another product like Shock Therapy; it is truly unique amongst pre-workout energizers and cell volumizers.
It has a healthier formula. Since Shock Therapy helps your body produce more nitric oxide, you need an anti-oxidant complex to scavenge the harmful free radicals that are released as a result of the nitric oxide process. Our competitors aren't keeping your health in mind; we are.

It has A better formula. Shock Therapy uses R-ALA to help shuttle the creatine and nitric oxide stimulating components into circulation, whereas the competition either does not use any form of alpha lipoic acid or uses the standard ALA, which has been shown to be less effective than R-ALA. Many individuals do not like to ingest aspartame and prefer sweeteners such as sucralose. Shock Therapy does not use any aspartame, while some of the other popular products do.

    Day 1

Today was shoulders I did the following:

    Military Press 150 (weight) x 5 (reps) x 3 (sets)
    Military Press 155 (weight) x 5 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Dumbell Press 65 (weight) x 8 (reps) x 3 (sets)
    Dumbell Press 70 (weight) x 8 (reps) x 1 (sets)
    Dumbell Raises 25 (weight) x 10 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Dumbell Raises 30 (weight) x 8 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Barbell Shrug 225 (weight) x 10 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Barbell Shrug 255 (weight) x 8 (reps) x 2 (sets)

Preworkout took the Shock Therapy 30 minutes before I lifted. I mixed it with 8 oz of cold water. First impression, tasted pretty good and mixed well with just a few shakes.

    Workout:

I really felt this stuff hit me in about 20-25 minutes after taking it so I was eager to get into the gym. It wasn’t only the typical caffeine buzz, but I also felt more focused. Usually my body dictates what to do, but today my mind told my body parts to keep pushing further. I think I am going to like this product. More to come next workout. I will be away for the holiday weekend at my girlfriend's parents, so may not be able to post until Tuesday morning.

Today was chest (since I missed yesterday due to the holiday) I did the following:

    Incline Bench Press 205 (weight) x 5 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Incline Bench Press 215 (weight) x 5 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Wide Grip Machine Press 275 (weight) x 10 (reps) x 3 (sets)

Preworkout took the Shock Therapy 30 minutes before I lifted again as usual. I mixed it with 8 oz of cold water. Felt a nice rush within 10 minutes this time. The pumps were getting pretty decent today and it was only my second workout with it. My chest felt almost stiff after I finished incline. More to come tomorrow.

Nice review gut... A while back I did a Storm review (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=408406), a product I really liked a lot.

Looks like I might pick up a bottle of Shock Therapy and stack it with Storm.

good log gut23...seems like Shock Therapy is getting a lot of positive feedback on the boards...I've used NOXplode in the past but it's quite expensive. This looks like a good alternatice...I'll keep checking in on your log to see how it goes for you.

Instead of taking the day off I made up for missing Monday and did legs today. I did the following:

    BTF Squats 135 (weight) x 12 (reps) x 1 (sets)
    BTF Squats 225 (weight) x 10 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    BTF Squats 275 (weight) x 6 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Leg Press 450 (weight) x 12 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Leg Press 630 (weight) x 10 (reps) x 1 (sets)
    Leg Press 715 (weight) x 5 (reps) x 1 (sets)
    Leg Extensions 180 (weight) x 20 (reps) x 1 (sets)
    Lying Hamstring Curls 130 (weight) x 12 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Lying Hamstring Curls 150 (weight) x 10 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Standing Leg Curls 60 (weight) x 12 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Standing Leg Curls 70 (weight) x 10 (reps) x 2 (sets)

More light ab work, 15 minutes this time

Preworkout took the Shock Therapy 30 minutes before I lifted again as usual.
I mixed it with 8 oz of cold water.

The energy was pretty good today, better yesterday, but still psyched me up for lifting. I have been noticing I don’t get sore as much a I used to last week. My legs were so pumped it was hard to walk. It was like I had a stick up my ass

    More to come.

    Days 5, 6, 7

My schedule this last week was off because of the holiday on Monday. I did the following:

    Day 5 off

    Day 6 Back

    Standing Barbell Rows 135 (weight) x 12 (reps) x 1 (set)
    Standing Barbell Rows 175 (weight) x 8 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Standing Barbell Rows 195 (weight) x 6 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Close Grip Seated Cables 120 (weight) x 12 (reps) x 1 (set)
    Close Grip Seated Cables 160 (weight) x 10 (reps) x 2 (sets)
    Close Grip Seated Cables 180 (weight) x 8 (reps) x 2 (sets)
Widegrip Pullups 4 (sets) each to failure

Preworkout took the Shock Therapy 45 minutes before I lifted this time because this annoying kid talked to me outside the gym for like 15 minutes, I hate these newbs who ask ridiculous questions.

Energy was light at first but when I hit the close grip cables it hit me like a ton of bricks and I set a new record on the # of reps at 180, which is awesome for me.

    More to come.

Day 7 off (too busy, couldnt get to the gym)

    Final Review

Sorry for not updating in awhile, my life has been so hectic recently and it will continue to be so I figured I would summarize and wrap this log up.

well I am about half way through the container now and I am really enjoying this stuff. I get a ton of energy and I really focus a lot better while lifting. Pumps are very noticeable and to the point of being painful when doing squats.

I made a few pound gain from the start so far and many of my lifts have gone up nicely.

I would highly recommend this product, it works well and its damn cheap.

That's cool. Thats why ive always been hesitant to buy NO/energy type products like NO-xplode, SP250, etc b/c after about 10 days of use the effects start to get alot less noticeable.
