Thanksgiving Meal Calories
I was just reading about the average thanksgiving meals and according to media sources, Thanksgiving day meals can vary from 2000-3000 calories and extreme meals can go up to 7000 calories (must be my grandmothers home cooking they rated).
So I thought it would be fun to see some or our own results.
Assuming we were supposed to use thanksgiving as our cheat meal day, whether your are cutting or bulking, I thought it would be interesting to see how many calories everyone consumed for their thanksgiving meal, not all day just from the appetizers to the nuts in your pecan pie.
I am shooting for 2300 but we will see.
If you did not count you calories and want to get a close estimate use the link to the point and click calculator.

Obviously, I have not eaten it yet, but just in the stuff I plan on preparing and consuming, I should be in the 5 - 6K neighborhood handily...

About 6 oz turkey + veg and a very small amount of stuffing.
Sweet potato pie will be for desert, maybe with some custard.
1/2 glass of wine (I'm on antibiotics).
That will be enough for me. And since dinner will be at 6pm, not much of a cheat day on leftovers either. That will change if my in-laws break out the Christmas cake though!
I won't even be having much of my son's birthday cake because it has vegetable oil in it and that messes with my stomach.
Christmas and pre-Christmas 'Christmas dinners' will be the big ones.
Even cheat days though, I rarely get over 3000kcal - I just start to feel too full and figure I'd rather have a little extra cheat tomorrow.

There is always "something" every month .... so I just include it in my refeed day ..... although this is probably more of a big "cheat day" lol Oh, and I have cardio this morning. Last year I also did a session in the eve as well. We shall see if I am up to it this year
FYI - all of my recipes were "altered" no cholesterol, whole wheat flour, veg broth in place of turkey fat, low fat, low sugar, etc ..... no one noticed when I made the switch a few years ago.

Ahhh Foood
I have three dinners, all 1 week apart, don't even want to think about the calories, one thing that saves me is I do allow myself seconds but only one desert, Pumkin Pie!

No pernil this time... that's probably for Christmas. But there is a big pot of arroz con gandules. My s-i-l made collards w/smoked turkey and cornbread. This is about as far from being raised Italian as one can get.
So far as of 4pm...
Small bowl of arroz con gandules (with hot sauce);
Nibbled (OK, wolfed down) some turkey and ham as I was slicing them;
Small chunk or two of cornbread;
One dinner plate of turkey, stuffing and gravy; cranberry sauce; yams.
For now I am full. But it's early and I will eat again later. And then of course there are some pies.

I think I did pretty good this afternoon - when I totaled everything up on the "point and click calculator" it came out to 2301.

Here is the quick list of what I have had both today and yesterday Thanksgiving-related:
I got a 21 lb. turkey (smallest one I could find) and cooked it to absolute perfection. The skin was as crispy as a potato chip (or maybe even moreso) while the meat was literally running with juices. My roommate made some stuffing I didn't enjoy too much, but I horked down on all of the following: Pringles Sweet Potato chips, Frito-Lay Jalapeno chips, Uinta Cutthroat Pale Ale, Chateau LaRose-Trintaudon Bordeaux (nearly the entire bottle by myself -- would have gone for a second, but I was too stuffed), pumpkin pie, black olives, green olives, marinated mushrooms, sausage stuffing, 2 full cans + 1 full bottle of gravy, 2 full cans of whole cranberry sauce, turkey, sweet potato compote with marshmallows.
I also banged down a Twix PB bar and a 20 oz. Coke...
