My Squatting Video~New personal best :)
Hey guys whats going on? Ok first off squatting is def. not my favorite exercise but every Tuesday I go down into my basement and begin my leg workout with some squats. My weight set stops at 320lbs, so I can't really have any heavy sets. Which is cool because now my leg endurance is getting better. Today I put on the 320lbs + some paint cans that I weighed on my scale that were about 10lbs each. So roughly I had 340lbs on the bar lol...Managed to get 15 reps which I was pleased with! Critique me, let me know what you think please! Thanks!

That was a really great lift - heavy, plus you had to balance some swinging paint cans! Get yourself some more plates for Christmas and keep it up!

Damn man, I hope your back is ok, everytime you lift up from the bottom you're bending it pretty bad. If I were you i'd lighten it up a bit but get your form 100% + go down a bit deeper - that's my opinion, but definately would try get form better for your backs sake!

He was wearing a belt which im sure helps that out a bit, that being said speaking from personal experience when I bend my back kinda like that during squats my lower back definetely doesn't like it.

Just a little bit lower and you'd be pretty golden.
As for the back bend, I know a few guys who squat a decent amount who have to have thier chest appraoch their knees like that in order to get low enough if they are trying to keep their knees behind thier toes. I squat pretty much the same way if I'm going heavy around the the parallel area. If I'm using more olympic style squats where its basically just straight down with no real cares of where the knees end up my back stays a lot straighter. Its really something slightly different for everyone, go google some powerlifting and olympic lifting pictures and you'll see not everyone can keep their back perpendicular to the ground during squats

Maybe its just me, but it looked like your knees were coming inward on the lifts. Try to keep em straight.

Hey guys thanks for all the comments. First off I agree that everyone has their own form of squatting. I actually have corrected my back bend, it used to be much worse, now I am very comfortable. A lot of it is the camera angle. It's kinda from the side and a little crooked, I had it blanced on some junk in my basement so a lot of it is the angle haha. I tend to spread my feet a little wider than shoulderwidth apart, get the bar up on the back of my traps, stare straight up at this orange dot I placed on the cieling and go as low as I can go. Again I feel I was going pretty low in that video and the camera was up kinda high so it was hard to tell. I know everyone has their own definition of low too. My college football coach was a big fan of box squats for some reason so the whole going low thing is an adjustment, but I'm working on it!

Hey bro, first to say, good weight!
The thing is, those are looking rather like half squats to me! I recommend dropping the weight by 60lbs, dropping the reps down to 8 and dropping your ass down to the floor - better results all round!
Everyone's got their own style but that's just my opinion

I started squating after a year of going to the gym(yes finally) only reason I started though is for the first time in a year I finally seen someone go right down and thought it was awesome and now I'm try to copy his form, which means very low weights for me but hell yea my legs can feel it the next day and the day after,
