Question What is the best exercise for the biceps brachii?

I want to develop my biceps brachii. Background: I use a wheelchair, so I don't stand during any exercise. I do use a bench for DB work now, I belt myself to the bench so I don't hit the floor. My triceps and biceps are developing OK, but the pesky brachii are just lacking.

    Confused.

You said the triceps and biceps are developing, but the brachii is not?

Brachii is the main part of the bicep that everyone sees
Brachii the round peak that most call the bicep

Brachialis outer part of the bicep

Brachioradialis this is the part that starts on the top of the forearm and curls around into the outer bicep

Here are few excercises for biceps that you could do

Preacher curls ( I have seen a dude in the gym I used to go to wheel under neith a preacher station and lift away, with assistance getting the bar off the rack)

Here are a few more, you will just have to be a little creative at how you do them.

The outer part of the biceps would be the Long Head of Biceps Brachii. Brachialis is deep to Biceps Brachii and is mostly positioned on the anterior side of the humerus as oppsed to the lateral side. The Long Head originates further from the midline of the body (laterally) than the short head, and thus can be preferentially recruited if you abduct the arm (as during lateral raises). A good way to perform this would be to do standing cable curls, but with your body placed as if you were going to perform cable cross-overs. BB/EZ bar curls with a wide grip should hit the Long Head better as well, but won't isolate as much as the cable curls I mentioned.

Try using a hammer grip (neutral) or a grip slightly supinated from neutral. Sometimes a neutral grip gets TOO MUCH brachialis/brachioradialis, so by turning your hand out a little you focus more on the long head/outer biceps

targeting the brachialis is a good idea if you want a fuller looking arm and find that your biceps looks 'stringy' if there is any better way to describe it.

First off i think its amazing you workout while being in a wheelchair. In my weights class last year there was a kid in a wheel chair who had the strongest bench, dumbell curl in the class, its pretty cool. To work his biceps brachii he would always do seated alternate bicep curls, seemed to work since his arms were pretty jacked

without a doubt, hammer curls are the best for that exact spot you're referring to. My doubled in size after about 3 months of hammer curls.
