Finally...broke through 230...
My apologies for a self-congratulatory post, but...what has been a ceiling for me for many months now has finally been broken. It seems as though something always came up that prevented me from really pushing through the 230 lb bodyweight barrier: travel, job requirements, social engagements that prevented me from eating enough. But finally, I was able to get through it. Next objective is to get through to 235. Let the force feeding continue!!

Congrats! I had to read this carefully to see if you were breaking 230 on the way up or down!
Funny how the same circumstances -- travel, job, social engagements, etc. -- can cause people to both not eat enough and eat too much.

I like your attitude.
People don't realise what hard work it is to weight a lot. It doesn't just accidently happen, no a lot of force feeding is involved. I didn't get my pert little moobs from just being lazy and eating twinkies and chips all day.
I was stuck for ever at 235 myself. It wasn't until I learnt the power of eating 2kg (4 lb) of yohgurt (the sweet stuff) a day that I finally broke through the 235 barrier and all the way up to my current 250. Briefly hit 265 but just can't stay there for long no matter what I eat. In fact I find maintaining anything over 250 pretty difficult, a moment let up in binge eating and I'm back down to 250 again.
Even now I have eat 1.7kg (3.75lb) of chicken legs a day just to maintain 250. Otherwise the weight just melts off me.

Congrats ScubaDave! You're looking great for that weight too, which makes a difference... Although it may be personal preference, but being a big guy with visible muscularity is always better in my opinon that just being ...big.
Way to go and congrats, best of success on your next goals!
Mark

Congrats!!
I know this fight, it's hard to gain BW, especially without cheating and without loosening one's belt.
The same battle I've been fighting for almost a year, though mine is at a far lesser degree. I'm tired of a horizontal graph in my bodyspace.
Wish I could follow your path valiantly!! LOL.

Good job on the breaking thru the barrier .It took me 32 years to reach 170 pounds. Now 6 months later after a change of diet and turning 50 Ive gone back the other way and now weigh a comfortable 162 .Although I was as strong and as big as I ever at that weight it wasnt good for my health and I was too bloaded. Now at 162 I can still lift most the weights I built up too but now Im able to go back down a few notches on lifting belt .

Thanks all - appreciate the comments. I don't like adding too much body fat when trying to add body weight. I really like to keep my body fat % under 12% (still keep the abs visible). I'm off to the Philippines for two weeks to work with my former trainer which will be great for my workouts, and great for my diet - tons and tons of cheap raw tuna. Yee haw!!
