    Creatine & Carb loading.

Am I ok to continue with the directed loading intake of creatine for 2 weeks rather than just the one?

It's my first time taking creatine, and I have just adjusted my diet slightly so that I consume more carbohyrdrates.

The thing is, I'm at the end of the loading phase and I've just started consuming more carbs and I read that I should load creatine with extra carbs for maximum effect.

Can I load for another week so that I get extra benefits, or not really?

    Cheers, Paul.

Creatine loading AFTER the first 3 days doesn't accomplish that much.

The purpose of loading is to have your body reach the maximum amount of creatine stored in your body in a relatively brief time period. You can accomplish the same thing by taking smaller amounts over a longer period of time. Once you reach your "saturation level" (for lack of a better term), taking extra does not accomplish anything. That is, above a certain level, your body does not absorb any more.
    Always learning.

    Cheers.

I'm a 5'9" ectomorph who weighs 145lb, I've been training for 2 and a half years 13 1/4 inch biceps 29 1/2" waist but I'm now going to put a few pounds on.

I've decided to give just some creatine monohydrate a whirl and I'm now on a new, increased-calorie diet. I got it from Arnold Schwazenegger's modern encyclopedia and I'll stick with it until I stop putting on weight and then I'll decide whether to up it again, or stick with it for 6 months or so. I've always been sceptical about getting big but I got whooped in an arm wrestle by my beer drinking endo-mesomorph brother at the weekend and it hurt!

Cheers Cogar, I'll stick with loading for another 2 days then I'll get on with the maintenace phase. Thanks to a couple of changes in my regime, I'm now looking forward to working-out and I feel very excited again, just as I did when I first started, bring on the bigger t-shirts!!
