Squats, leg raises and ham curls, don't forget the hams and calves those are just as important

I incorporate all rep ranges, 3 through 20. I incorporate alot of exercises. Heavy back squats in low rep ranges, leg presses in mid an higher ranges, lunges and leg extensions in 10-15 rep ranges.
I train to positive muscular failure 4/6 sets. I train high volume high frequency (10-12 sets/workout, 2x/week). I kick up the music and train hard.
I eat a surplus with sufficient protein.
Theres what I do

I've been training with some REAL bodybuilders lately (not to say that anyone here isn't a real bodybuilder, but these dudes are HYOOGE) and they've put me through some great leg workouts. The routine should be done in under 45 minutes so the intensity stays high. The routine is like this:
Leg extension: two sets: 1 set of 10, 1 set of 8
Squat: 2 sets: 10, increase weight and go to failure (with a spotter obviously)
Hack squat: 4 sets: 10, 8, 6, falure
It doesn't look like much, but if you do it right (meaning DEEP squats and flexing at the top of each rep) it is one helluva workout, especially if you hit hammies and calves in the same go.

I noticed that my legs grew fast when i started working out quads and hamstrings on seperate days. I'd do hams with back and quads by themselves on a seperate day. For quads I do:
Squats - one warm up set and 3 sets 6-12 reps
Dumbell or barbell lunges - 3 sets 10 reps for each leg
Leg press 3 sets 8-12 reps
Leg extensions 3 sets 8-12 reps

back sumo squats, back close stance squats, front squats, sumo DL, sissy squats, jump squats, and frequency!, hit legs 2-3X a week, don't do too much volume, and eat a ****load.

My quads progress like nothing else... Seriously, I just have to look at them funny and they'll grow so take my advice for what it's worth. I just squat and keep it low reps, then throw in an auxilary exercise or 2.
If you really want your quads to grow, you'll go on smolov. Mine exploded on that program.

i dont care for bigger legs. when i was fat i used to have the inner thigh rub against eachother and it burned like a bitch. i dont mind them being smaller at all...

yea but pretty much anyone who does leg exercises will be doing free weights. usually anything that will workout both. =)
weird thing is with quads. power squats would be better.
when i say that i mean quarter squats.
