How many times should u workout in a week?

hey, i just turned 15 and have been casually working out for about a year, but now i really want to get serious and start building body mass. I want to start a new routine, but i dont know how many times i should go a week, i normally used to go 3 times a week for 1hr each session, i would go Monday, doing all upperbody, usually 2 excercises per bodypart and abs, Wednesday, doing legs and abs, and then Friday, doing all upperbody and abs again. I also would do some cardio, like run a mile, in between workout days, and then give my body a rest on weekends. Is this sufficient or should i change it up?

Well, you can do ^ that ^ or....

Just go 5 times a week and do one body part a day...

    EX:

    Sunday- Chest

    Monday- Legs

    Tuesday- Back

    Wed- Arms

    Thursday- Shoulders

    Friday- Off

    Satuday- Off

Put the off days on whatever days you need to...Just make sure you hit each body part once a week

personally i go 6 times a week, only taking saturday off. mid you, i have a 5 day split, so once every 5th week i do something twice. its acutally better to make one that fits around your schedual, when you feel you have the most energy and time to put in at the gym, schedual that as a training day.
