    what do you do when your deep squatting and...

    what do you do when your deep squatting and you cant push the weight up? and your just stuck there. im supposing this is a stupid question but i almost dropped the barbell today on a bloke behind me, and what safety precautions for next time?

    its a very simple thing. the 2 horizontal bars can be set at different heights. so set them an 1" below your squatting depth then if you need to bail use lower your self that extra 1" and the bars take the barbell.

    Definitely go with the Power Rack, any gym that doesn't have one is liable to have A LOT of injured customers. I won't do squats without one, it's far too dangerous even with perfect form.

    That's the power rack I use. I can do a full squat, and my wrist just barely touch the bars. I like it that way though, let's me know when to power up. I'm 6'4, so it probably can't be done with shorter people

    I've never had this happen because I use the lockout bars. You could just roll it off your back like Ronnie Coleman does when doing lunges.
