    1st Competition

    Hey Everyone,
I would love your opinion, it's easier to get an honest opinion from someone who doestn't know me.
I am going to enter my first competition in Oct. I have been training for 1 1/2 years. I know I have weak areas that I need to work on...but I wanted to try and compete just for the experiance and the fun of it.
I would like to know if I would be making a fool of myself if I compete.
Should I go for it...or forget it?
I know I will get honest answers .
    Thanks!
    Buffy

Great Job! You look really good for only training 1.5 years! I would say you are ready to compete. Just make sure you have a really good cutting diet/training/supplement regiment. You need to get down to 10% bf or lower to be competetive. You have a great foundation. The only weak areas I see are arms and shoulders but that will come with time. Make sure you start practicing your posing at least 8 weeks out. This will help tremendously. Let me know if I can help in any way!

You have a good frame and some solid mass, your arms look great. Posing is your presentation, it can make or break you on stage. Might I suggest purchasing Perfect Posing. It's a video tape many beginners use to hide weaknesses and enhance strong points. From now until the show I focus on pull-ups to widen your back and when doing legs, finish off with lots of walking lunges to shape up the legs. When posing to the front or the back, be sure your heels are touching and direct your toes out ward, it's similar to a miliary attention stance except you flare your lats. Remember to blow your air out after you execute each pose and keep a relaxed smile on your face. It's harder then it sounds. Good Luck and WIN!!

You look really good in those pictures and should do well in your first show. You still have plenty of time to get leaner and harder. Definitely practice your posing. Pick the poses that compliment your hard earned physique during your free-posing round. That Perfect Posing video is great and will help you out a lot.

I also agree with adding some pull-ups to your workout. You want your upper body (lats) to be a little wider. You can't do too much now to build more muscle but you will be improving each year. That's not a problem now, so don't focus too much on that. Continue to eat a clean diet, keep on top of your cardio and rest. You might also be interested in the following thread posted on competition mistakes...so you don't do them.

Good luck, stay focused and have fun. Enjoy yourself.

Buffy..... the body looks great to me! I have never competed, and have no idea how you would do, as the more experienced members here would know. But for the experience and fun....I say...go for it no matter what!

I'd say you're on the right track. Continue with the diet so you can get some more hardness in your lower body and definitely practice the posing, not only will you be able to present yourself better, but it will also help with your definition.

    Wink first comp

Hey girl, I feel you ....
but you need to make a jump in cold water to see what's all about. You look good enough for the first one, just make sure to show all what you got, it seems to me, you may have more to show, so spread the lat, bring up the bi squeeze it out.
Make sure, don't loose to much muscle during diet till october!!!
    best wishes Imakeyoufit
