However, for the athlete in training, the key finding is that sustained caffeine intake, over a three-day period, negates the benefits of creatine supplements

Interesting article. Would like to see what kind of caffeine intake the test subjects had. This is important because most pre-workout stims contain some sort of caffeine.

The article would not pull up for me, but caffeine is a diuretic, so it makes sense that it would be counterproductive to take with creatine.

The reason why I'm asking is because I like to take caffeine stacked with ibuprofen before a workout, and I also take creatine at that time too. I don't know if I'd be willing to give up caffeine bc it's such a good pre-workout stim.

This article only says high doses affect creatine. The thing is, most caffeine supplements are 200mg a pill anyways, and they consider that to be a high dose.

    yep
drinking extra water might help, or you could try some non-diuretic stimulants; scivation neurostim, for example

In case you don't know, aspirin, ibuprofen, and acetaminophen are COX (cyclooxygenase) inhibitors, which reduce muscle synthesis.

The positives of caffeine + creatine outweigh the (potential) negatives.
