If you only avoid two things in the foods you eat, make it partially hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrup. If those two ingredients were banned by FDA, Americans would have alot less health problems. So yes, its bad if you eat it.

I've seen a couple articles that show that America's obesity problem began when trans fat and high fructorse corn syrup were introduced and regularly incorporated into the average person's diet.

It's around 55% fructose, and considering that most Americans consume tons of processed, sugary foods rich in high fructose corn syrup, it's no wonder that they're fat! There is only so much fructose your liver can handle before increasing triglyceride synthesis. See: average piece of fruit has around 10g fructose, well below the 50-70g threshold. Average American who eats 3 cups of cereal for breakfast, with 15g of sugar per serving, and using HFCS as the primary sweetener may be getting 21g or so of fructose in that one go. Add in snacks, lunch, dinner, dessert ..you see?

You can go ahead and eat it. Just be aware that you should avoid it as much as possible in the future. You will soon find high fructose corn syrup is in so many products it is very hard to avoid totally. The key is at least avoiding those products where it is one of the first 3-4 ingredients.

Hard to avoid, yes. But I've gone over a year without having any on more than 1 or 2 occasions. You just have to work a little to find where the alternatives are.

A little HFCS ain't gonna kill ya, my Miracle Whip free that I put on sandwiches has it, but it's very low calorie so it barely makes a dent.

But avoid it like the plague as much as you can. It makes me sick that my whole grain burger buns have HFCS in it, but what can you do?

Bottom line, if you check ingredients and only get HFCS when you absolutely have to, you'll be in good shape.

All other things being equal, the 9 grain would be better. Still, if one uses whole grains and the other does not (and uses refined flour), that can also be a deciding factor as well.

Organic products won't have any HFCS

Oh and I have found some kick ass bread, it's made from "organic sprouted grains" and per slice nutrients are (this is off the top of my head so may be a little off)

    110 cals
    6 gram protein
    5 fiber
and a fairly minimal amount of sugar

I also use sprouted grain tortilla shells, sprouted grain products are not made from flour

Many sociologists argue that nothing rots a child's brain like television, but I've found virtually all hydrogen peroxide based gasses to be quite effective.
