You're 18 and you don't know what nostalgia is
It's a yearning for the past like you feel you wanna go back to the good old times

Lol sorry
Just that nostalgia is an SAT word, if you studied vigorously for it back in the day
I wish I could go back to high school and start over...Now I'm feeling nostalgic
Thanks a lot

Don't fight it. It is a part of who you are. And it defines who you are.
You think back to fond childhood memories, and pre-adolescent times when you felt happier, and safer, and secure. You go back to those times, and your brain frequency changes. Goes towards alpha or theta, and you become calmer. I get that all the time when I play older video games. Some of them remind me of my younger brother, others remind me of first and second year university.
For some it is like arcade video games, or some Nintendo video games, Zelda, Mario. For others, it is camping with family, being out in the wilderness, forested area, going to a favourite vacation spot as a kid. It seems familiar and feels safe whether actually being there or thinking back to it. It involves carrying on family traditions, a reminder of where you came from, and an insight into where you are going.

Or like when you see a car from when you were younger (this happens to my parents, never to me, I'm too young) and you think back to the time, or when you hear a song and it brings back a good warm feeling and memories of another time. This actually does happen to me, even though I'm only 15. I'll hear a song on the radio that was a big hit in elementary school or 7th grade and it brings back so many memories. I guess you could sometimes describe it as a yearning for the past,or for reliving the good old times, but it goes alot further than that. Nostalgia is great, lol.

Man, this is like a drug. Sometimes it feels good to go back and taste the good old times.

Yeah, but sometimes it hurt really bad too, trust me, I've been there many times.

It's hurt me too, but sometimes I dwell on misery
That's how my twisted mind thrives

wow i got the complete opposite of nostalgia. Maybe its because my life hasnt been really fun and its getting better and better every year. I always look forward to the future because for the last 3 or 4 years ive been getting more and more happy.

If it brings you happiness, keep at it. Seems to be a supply the world is running low on nowadays.

Get big, and get a good career, and that will show them. Although I wasn't a geek, just neutral, and in the shadows, I have risen very high above all those I knew in high school. My salary is probably higher than a bunch of them put together. But the best part is, I love my job. Lots of schooling, and lots of hard work, but worth it.

REPS. Thats EXACTLY how my life operates. You just wanna go back and fine tune what happened in the past because, although it was great, it wasn't perfect. Or it was great because you had dreams back then that you thought would come true but never did. Well thats how I feel anyway.
