Figure Suits: What kind of glue for crystals?
Not sure if anyone can help me with this, but what kind of glue is used to glue on crystals to competition suits?
I may be decorating my first suits, and I like being creative, but at the same time I am clueless about crystals and glue.
 Thanks!

Any ideas? I doubted I would get a reply, because no one wants to give out their 'secrets'!

I was using Gem-Tac, but the crystals wouldn't stay on the shiney fabrics once I put the suits on. I have switched to E6000 but I haven't tested it "in the field" yet.

Aleene's flexable stretchable fabric glue. It is designed for glueing rhinestones on fabrics. I keep it in my contest bag for quick fixes...
One good hint. Keep the fabric stretched while you are glueing the gemstones and allow the glue to dry while its stretched. If you don't, you will be replacing gemstones by the handfuls... I know that may sound crazy, but if you think about the suit being stretched after setting the rhinestones unstretched... The stones have a tendancy to pop right off.

x2 dreamtime creations is good.
Also, be aware of the difference between flatback and hotfix. Hotfix already has the glue on the back and there is a special applicator to use if you don't want to use an iron (not recommended).
I used the hotfix crystals for my suit and then kept regular fabric glue in my contest kit.

teazfashions also makes great suits....without having to add the stones yourself. The blue 1 piece on my pics is made by her and she did a fabulous job!

I got a used suit, the lady I got the suits from got them from competitive edge, I have never had suits that held gems like these!! I am going to tell my suit chick about it too and see if we can find out how she gets them so solidly on...........so I would contact competitive edge and see if she is nice enough to tell you her glue secrets.

For suits, try:
www.divaexchangeclassifieds.com and
http://www.fitnessandfigurecompetiti.../onepiece.html (that link is to the onepiece, but just click on the menu to view twopieces).
for used suits. I bought one here and was happy with it. (I had to really look at the gal I bought from to see if her body type was similar to mine, and it was right on).
I used E6000 and it works fine, it seems....
