If you can't relax on one day and eat what you want to, you have a problem. Relax, have fun with family, don't feel the need to stuff yourself just because it is thanksgiving, and have a great time.

I don't get this attitude: I actually like eating healthy for a change. My idea of a cheat might be a glass of wine with dinner once a week or every two weeks.

I don't get it. Why do people think Thanksgiving day food is so bad for you? I mean, if Thanksgiving food was like pizza, french fries, and ice cream, then I could see why people might worry about eating that on that one day. But I mean c'mon, whats so bad about REAL Turkey, squash, potatos, peas, corn, bread, etc.?
The only exception of course is the pie! But who can resist that?

That's good to like eating healthy Rhollan. The difference comes when people feel overwhelmingly worried and guilty about eating a meal that comes once a year with your family and friends.
Anyway, like people said, Thanksgiving dinners are 95% healthy anyway. Sure most people take in more calories than normal, but they are generally clean calories. If you are THAT worried about it, then eat a small portion and avoid the desserts. All I know is that I'm glad I am going to be on a bulk.

Reps. I'll make sure to avoid the Nutrition section on and after thanksgiving. Besides, I'll be to busy enjoying some pumpkin and sweet potato pie.

I dunno. My mom prepares it. She never uses to much nutmeg that it over-powers the pumpkin flavor. Let's just say it's got a very sweet/mellow taste unlike the typical pumpkin pie, which I also like but not as much as mom's.

it is basically healthy, but some recipes take mashed sweet potatoes to the extreme with added sugar, marshmallows, cream, etc...

not quite sure that's completely accurate. but again, i guess that depends on what the definition of "big" is to the individual. i've seen dudes over 15% who are ****in jaaacked. that's big. they could cut down to 15% and be more cut, but they are still big in either case. the thing is that not everybody does contests, so to some people it doesn't matter whether or not they have to be in "contest" shape, so you can be happy with the muscle you have without having to be in contest shape...and you can still be big without being in contest shape. Again, that's just my opinion though.

what about professional athletes though? those guys definitely have to keep extra weight (let's say we're talking about football) and some dudes are absoultey huge, but they aren't under 15%. Granted some are huge and under 15, but definitely not all. How about Dwight Freeney? Or some other DE's or LB's...some of those guys are huge! But they don't maintain under 15%...

lol open up an M&F magazine, these guys are leaner then you think. They got thick skin. I thought alan faneca was another fat lineman until i saw him, he cant be more then 15% bodyfat. Freeney? 15 %? Please! 11-12 at the most. You want to see a guy who's like 10 weeks out from a bbing show, look at julius peppers. Lol chad johnson is already there. These guys are insanely lean

Yea, I agree to what everyone is saying. There is some urban myth about gaining all this weight during the holidays. If you're in cold weather, your activity could be less... but who's fault is that?
Standard Holiday foods is Turkey/Sweet Potatoes/Veggies etc...
Nothing wrong with those at all. Just don't look at your 100 options of different dishes and fill your plate up. (Like most of my family does.) Eat it in moderation. Have a smaller meal and hit up some left overs a couple hours later if you want. Just don't fill yourself up full on one meal.
Anyways, if you look at some peoples cheat days, Thanksgiving is nothing. Eating more calories on Thanksiving/Christmas/Hannakah (sp?) isn't going to ruin your progress.
