I started on August 15 taking Green Bulge, White Blood and Blue Rhino daily. I am starting this log as I have not yet seen anyone logging Controlled Lab's three product at the same time. I'll be journaling my workouts in the Over Age 35 forum but posting links to my updates here. I'll also include in this log any specific comments about the supplements.
About Me
I'm 55, height 5'7" and weight 180 pounds. I have been training since December 2003. Since July 2004 I have worked out three days a week. One of those days I work out with a trainer.
My introductory post to bb.com is:

My previous three day split workout journal was:

Starting on my 55th birthday I designed a four day split and I am now posting my workouts to:
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=549790
At the top of that thread I fully describe my four day split design along with my goals and reasoning behind the design.
Body Type
I'm an endomorph. Food goes easily to fat so I have to watch my diet.
Goals
- Increase strength
- Get rid of the remaing midsection fat and get close to 15%BF (as measured by Omron).
- Keep away all those pains (knees, lower back, shoulders)
- Look good dressed and undressed
Training
I train three days a week using a four day split. That way I don't always work the same muscle group on the same day. My training days are usually Tuesday 7:0pm, Friday 7:00am and Sunday 10:00am. Tuesdays are usually with a trainer.
Diet
My diet is mostly clean. I avoid simple carbs and try to keep to 40% carbs(complex), 40% protein and 20% fats. I eat lots of fresh fish. My breakfast is usually an orange, whole wheat toast with one of cheese, eggs or smoked fish. Lunch at work is either grilled fish or chicken on salad or a low carb meal replacement shake. Supper is chicken, fish or beef with two vegetables or one vegetable and brown rice. Snacks are fruit or a PVL Whey Gourmet shake. My wife and I eat out most Saturday night. We eat well but stay away from fried foods.
Current Supplements
- Multivitamin
- Fish Oil
- Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM
- ZMA
- Saw Palmetto
- Surge as a post-workout shake
- PVL's Whey Gourmet for fast absorbing protein shakes
- I'm still looking for a good low-carb meal replacement shake.
Supplement History
I respond only partially to creatine monohydrate and it upsets my digestion. I have used two bottles of Kre-Alkalyn and have resonded well to that. It made my muscles feel harder and helped me increase weight on a lot of my lifts.
I have tried a few NO2 supplements (Nitroxyn II, Top Fuel) and found that they really don't give me much of a pump. They do, however, seem to help reduce delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS).
I have also tried a number of Tribulus-based testosterone boosters and found most of them just had a slight effect on libido and workout ability. They all gave me oily skin. The only exception so far had been Biotest's Alpha Male which kept me horny all day.
I have used three bottles of Sesathin capsules and I feel that they helped me drop some fat. They were out of stock for a long time and I only now have ordered some more. To remain objective I'll not take them until I have run this log for a month.
I have never taken any prohormones or steroids in my entire life.
