Well, after 12 years, I'm finally getting back into Martial Arts. I'm having to start all over again, so this should be a challenge. But, the even bigger challenge is this. How do I do my weight training days, in with my martial arts training days?
Here's my Normal schedule right now.
Monday [Back, Biceps, Abs, Forarms]
Tuesday [Cardio]
Wednes [Chest, Triceps, Abs]
Thrusday [Cardio]
Friday [shoulders, Legs, Abs]
Saturday [Cardio]
Sunday REST!!!!
How, my Martial Arts training is on Monday and Wednesday evenings for now, and Saturday afternoons. This is just when I'll be in the class, not counting training at home. Tell me what you think of this workout plan. I would keep all the days the same, just workout earlier, then go to class. I'll probably be dead to the world when I'm done, but my instructor thinks I'll be ok. He says he does it, that it really won't effect my target muscles, since I'll mainly be strecthing, breathing, kicking and even some yoga (lol).
What do you think? Should I switch up the days? Lift on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday?

Cool. Well.... I'm still at a learning stage, and will see for myself how TKD is. I do plan to cross train, probably with okinawan shorei-ryu (which is what I studied when I was little) but don't plan on taking if for atleast another 6 months, maybe longer. I don't want to confuse myself, or take on too much!
Thanks for the advice!

Used to do TKD when I was lifting (about 15yrs ago). I just worked my TKD days in as my cardio days, and then lifted on non-TKD days. I would do my outside-of-class TKD practices in the evenings

I agree
(I practice Silat and Filipino Martial Arts mostly, I'm not very advanced yet, though )
I think you should focus on building up the strength of your lower back with deadlift, condition your trunk flexors with high repetition exercises and build up leg strength with squats.
For explosiveness you could consider power cleans(here is my explanation of the clean

for power clean, do the same with less weight so you can catch the barbell by just a small dip)
p.s.

Thanks all.
I had my first class last night, and I'm very sore this morning. It was a crazy class. I felt that I got a better workout there (cardio wise) than I ever have.
Yeah, I'm going to lift on my non-class days, and stretch after wards and practice. Then on the days I have class, I'll just use them as my cardio. If I still don't continue to lose weight, I'll add a day of HIIT. But so far, this is what my days look like.
Monday -- Class
Tuesday -- Back, Biceps, Forarms, ABS (Practice and stretching)
Wednes -- Class
Thursday -- Chest, triceps, ABS (Practice and Stretching) Plus cut the grass
Friday -- Class (weapons)
Saturday -- Class (shoulders and ABS after class)
Sunday Rest.... Rest.... Rest.... and a much needed REST!
My diet is still on point, very clean, no cheats. I'll keep everyone up to date on how things are going!
