I was talking to an American friend and he said lots of Americans dont like Europeans and considers them to be effeminate etc. Is this true? Do Americans class the British as European?

Euoropeans are different just like Americans are different. I live in the North East. I am probably somewhat different then some one from a cattle farm in Texas Or a crab fisherman from Alaska. Just as a Taxi driver from London is Probably different then a farmer from Greece. I dont get the point of that question. Maybe there was none. My fault. Continue on.

The question is concerned with how the typical American views Europeans. Im not interested in what say the White House says but what the man on the street thinks. People are different (obviously) but in one ways are Europeans considered different? Accent? Mannerism? Sport? Way of life? What dominates the American psyche?

I wouldn't necessarily group all Europeans together either. For instance, some may think the French are a particular breed of pansy, but hold no grudge toward any other European population.A professor of the world's second oldest profession.

America is a huge country with many diverse ethnic groups, political groups, income groups and what ever other group you care to come up with. Me personally, haveing been to parts of Europe while in the service. (Italy, France, Spain,Greece, Turkey,) to name a few I enjoyed it imensely, I am a history buff and i loved seeing all the sights I also like to eat so I loved Italy. The people were fine. I dont particularly care for the politics of some of the countries. I feel they unfairly bash the USA. But there is nothing I can do about that. One thing I liked about Europe No matter Where I was I could always find an English pub even in my travels to the middle East and Africa. You cant beat a good English pub. when it is cold and rainy out.

Personally, I like pretty much up all of Europe, especially the Brittish, since they helped us in Iraq. The German people are really nice, although I don't agree with their politics, which I can say for most of Europe.
I don't care for the French at all, they tend to be rude and stuck up to Americans, and this is from experience. Not to mention the French's acting like a powerful nation when they really shouldnt' be nothing more than annoying little cousin. Actually don't get me started on the French, to put it this way, I feel saddened that the Brittish didn't win the 100 years war. I think it's one of the few French victories in history.

Here's some French jokes that I found online from Leno and Conana.
"I don't know why people are surprised that France won't help us get Saddam out of Iraq. After all, France wouldn't help us get the Germans out of France." óJay Leno
"Did you see the new bomb the government came up with? It weights 21,000 pounds. The Air Force tested this bomb in Florida and the bomb blast was so strong at Disneyworld 25 French tourists surrendered." óJay Leno
"You know why the French don't want to bomb Saddam Hussein? Because he hates America, he loves mistresses and wears a beret. He is French, people." óConan O'Brien
"According to the Pentagon today, secret surrender negotiations are now underway with key Iraqi military officials. That's what the Pentagon said: We're in secret negotiations, so for God sakes, don't tell anyone. ... What we're doing basically is giving these key Iraqi military officials instructions on how to surrender. See, this is where we could have used the French." óJay Leno
"After what they say was an exhaustive investigation, the Defense Minister of France said today that Osama bin Laden is either still in hiding in Afghanistan, he may have escaped to Pakistan, or he may be dead. Hey, France, thanks a lot. We'll take it from here. Hard to believe they were invaded twice." óJay Leno
"American tourists in Paris are reported to being yelled at, spit upon, and attacked by the French. Thank God things are getting back to normal." óJay Leno
"French troops arrived in Afghanistan last week, and not a minute too soon. The French are acting as advisers to the Taliban, to teach them how to surrender properly." óJay Leno
"Finally, this week the French soldiers have showed up in Afghanistan. Figures ó just like the French to show up after the hard work has been done." óJay Leno
I knew there was a reason why I prefered Leno over Letterman

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...
Imagine there's no countries,
It isn't hard to do?
Nothing to kill or die for,
And no religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one,
I hope some day you will join us,
And the world will be as one

I'll be the first to admit, that I'm a bible thumping, war mongering, conservative, right-wing extremist. And that my interpretation of europeans is slightly skewed.. but I think europeans are eurotrash... for lack of a better word. I shouldn't say ALL europeans.. mainly the french. I can't stand them.. they're feminine, rude, arrogant, whiny cheese eating pussies. I even tried to culture myself by taking french in high school... needless to say I dropped it the first day; because the french teacher was not only french, but undoubtably homosexual. I don't know which made me more uncomfortable.
