I think Green tea has 1/5th the amount of caffiene as the same amount of coffee..... does that little make much of a difference?

Did anyone consider how much tea is required to burn those 70 calories? You need to be daily prolific drinker to get that kind of benefit. 5-10 cups a day depending on the quality of the tea.

Gee. That would sure explain why JAPAN, where they drink a whole lot of green tea, is the stomach cancer, a rare cancer, capitol of the world.

It's probably worth mentioning that these benefits are there for other types of tea as well. You get these benefits from black, white and green tea as well as rooibos so long as you don't add lemon juice, milk or sugar to it. Adding those will kill most benefits in your tea unfortunately but I've adjusted and dislike milk in tea anyway. Green tea is good though because it's much lower in caffeine than black tea, for example.

Thanks man, great read! I drank green and white tea all summer long. Now I'm on a coffee kick since it's cold now, but have also been supplementing green tea caffeine complex(green, white, and black teas). I've read that pure caffeine is even more effective with fat burning and killing cancer. I think i'll go fix a glass of hot green tea now

And creatine causes kidney failure. Anything we take too much of can yes. But I think it was something like you'd need to take 50 glasses of it a day. Which I very much doubt many people do.

WHAT?? 70 calories a day from drinking green tea? Are you sure? if its 70 cals per day you will burn waaayyy more fat a year than 7 pounds! 3500 cals=1lb!
    erm,

    365 days a year, 70 cals a day =

    365 x 70 = 25,550

    25,550 / 3500 = 7.3

so yes around 7 pounds of fat.

unless you see 0.3 pounds as 'waaayyy more fat'

i wondered the same thing. i always buy the naturally decaffeinated green tea. from the research I've done if the decaffeinate correctly the benefits are preserved. I would go with a trusted brand

I'm a big tea drinker! The benefits mentioned in this thread are right on. I was up to about 15 cups a day at one point. I cut that in half now. Lemon Zinger and Green Chai Tea mxed together is everyday for me! Keep up the hard work friends!

I used to be the same, but I live in the land of the rising sun (Japan). I didn't like many things Umeboshi (sour plums), seaweed, Green tea, Oolong tea but once you had then for long enough you will get used to the taste.

The very key to this is high fluoride content found in green tea. It helps keep your bones strong. If you drink green tea every day, this will help you preserve your bone density.

Your article on green tea seems amazing . . . sounds like some kind of super supplement.

I dont know much about green tea and you cant believe everything you read but I do know "fluoride" and I gotta tell you guys . . .

Fluoride causes more human cancer death, and causes it faster than any other chemical . . .

I agree with many posters who don't like the taste. I don't like it either. Sometimes functionality trumps taste when it comes to health.
