faint after cardio ?
I am guessin this is a good place to ask this...I was wondering if there could be some specific things to do to help that not to happen.
I can walk on the treadmill for any amount of time over 15 min (which allows my heart rate to climb),I usually go for 2o mins on weight day and 30 mins in between days. I usually start to cool down for about 2 min walkin at a very slow pace. When the machine actually stops I feel faint for about 30 sec.
I am eating a good diet. I try not to eat hard before workin out. My water intake, I admit, is quite low. I know this 'could' be several things, but assuming it is a simple solution...what comes to your mind? or what can I try to help this?
Now I just can't have everyone in the gym pickin me up off the floor
thanks!

Usually if you don't drink enough water an you feel faint, its from low blood pressure. Try drinking more.

Water intake low? Exactly how low are you talking about?

There are a number of possible causes for feelings of faint (assuming that you have not actually lost consciousness which in that case should result in your seeking medical attention immediately) after working out such as being dehydrated, hypotensive, hypoglycemic or cardiac related problems. If increasing your hydration and/or glucose intake does not improve your symptom, IMHO, and not being a doctor, I would suggest consulting with your physician to rule out any significant medical issues and to pin down the exact cause of your problem.

Thank you for the responses so far. Hmmm...could it just be hydration? I am on a low on water lately (I think because of the weather change). Probably drinking about 64 oz of water and my current weight is 126 lbs. I am very healthy otherwise. In the past I would always border on low blood sugar, since then my sugar intake is extremely low. Does this mean more carbs before workout? I do cardio tonight... I will see how it goes. Hmmm, just a question 'can stress also cause this?'

stress is usually related to almost every decrease in performance (apart from regular injuries) i've found!
maybe chew some lollies or something that has a bit of sugar in it, help get your glucose levels up. It does sound as though you may have low blood pressure.
I was diagnosed with low blood pressure once, and the doctor recommended that i increase my sodium intake. so maybe a little extra salt?
Keep in mind that i'm not a doctor and this was almost 8yrs ago that he said that to me. so maybe there is a better way. But my advice would be to combine a little bit of salt at lunch, with some lollies before / after training, and some water all day, especially when training

Thanks to you all. I did cardio and all was much better. I found that I was waiting too long between eatting. It would be about 3 hours. I just assumed that working out on a full stomach would not be good...well,, I compromised. My tummy wasn't stuffed, but it was semi-full of power food (protein and carbs). I listened to my body's cues and slowed down some in intravels. I just hate looking like a whimp in the gym (stupid I know). Thanks again.
