I'm 28.
wish you were there too Jess!
It was a blast!
thanks hun.
It was great meeting you too Tara! you are gorgeous! next time we all gotta hang out more!
The Arnold was great!
Hey Lou! So many amazing people there! It was so inspiring!
Yes, start planning now. you gotta go next year!
awww, thanks hun! I'm glad you think so! Looking at all the hawt women there made me want to try even harder. I want the shoulder/bi/tri definition!!!
So everyone, the Arnold was amazing. We went down Saturday to the Expo, and I caught up with Tara, Adrienne and Sasha, and saw Jaime at the Scivation booth! Then walked around all day filling my pink Xtend bag with free stuff! it was so heavy by the end of the day.
After the expo, went out for dinner and I had a burger and fries (sorry J!) and just enjoyed the food. Then off to the men's finals we went. Such amazing bodies. It's so touching to see how much work people put into this. Like I was saying to Scott on the way home, the feeling I got being around all of these bodybuilders, fitness pros, and just seeing people with the same passion was truely an amazing feeling. Like we were all one big family, even though we didn't know each other.
After the men's finals, hung out with Adrienne and had a drink! We were all exhausted after the long day. I fell asleep on the way back to our friends place!
Went shopping Sunday and stocked up on cool stuff that we can't get in Canada. snacks, pop, juice, all the fun stuff! What a great trip.
I don't think I'll be around too much this week. I need a mental break away. Going through some crazy emotions right now that I need to focus on my mind and heart and just put my program aside for now. Right now I can't put forth the effort that I should, so I'm just going to take it easy and have some me time. I will read now and again, but may not post much. But I will be thinking of you all. Take care.'Cause sometimes you just feel tired, you feel weak
And when you feel weak you feel like you want to just give up
But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength
And just pull that *** out of you and get motivation to not give up
And not be a quitter, no matter how bad you want to just fall flat on your face and collapse.

So awsome to hear what a great time you had. I;m jealous of your Scivation bag lol
That feeling that you got being around other bodybuilders and people into fitness... super sweetness. Sounds like the Arnold motivated alot of people. That feeling is one of the reason I love bb.com. I can talk to others who share my passion. I bet it was a whole new and stronger feeling actually being at the Arnold though.
Everyone needs a break. Take care and get some R&RControl it or it will control you

Sleep Clinic results
Interpretation
Abnormal Study.
The patient slept for a total of 4.6 hours with a corresponding total sleep efficiency of 75%. Sleep architecture demonstrated an overall reduction in the percentage of slow wave sleep (Stages III and IV) with the complete absence of stage IV sleep. The percentage of REM sleep was diminished accounting for only 13% of total sleep time (TST) and associated with an increasted latency of 191 mins after initial sleep onset to NREM.
Sleep stage progression was characterized by an increased number of stage shifts, and combined with the elevated total arousal index and presence of frequent awakenings, these are factors contributing to the observed sleep fragmentation.
Precense of an elevated total arousal index of 16. A value that exceeds 10 events per hour sleep time is considered clinically significant.
The combined apnea/hypopnea index was 2. An apneahypopnea index (AHI) of less than 5 events per hour sleep time is considered normal.
No sleep hypoxemia.
Presence of periodic type leg movements with a periodic limb movement (PLM) indext of 11 which is in the mild rance and may be associated with a mild degree of insomnia or sleepiness. The periodic limb movement may be secondary to the presence of a primary respiratory disturbance, and represent arousal movements rather than periodic limb movements of sleep (PLMS).
No cardiac abnormalities were observed during this study.
Although the total apnea/hypopnea index is within the range considered normal, the diminished percentqage of slow wave sleep (stages III and IV), increased number of arousals, and snoring suggest that the patient may have the upper airway resistance syndrome (UARS) which is associated with increased respiratory effort and a pattern of disturbed sleep.
recommendations
Technology currently available to us in the Sleep Lab does not allow for a definitive diagnosis of the increased UARS. If the patient remains symptomatic, she may benefit from a trial of nasal CPAP titrated to prevent snoring, diminish arousals, and restore slow wave sleep.
If the leg movements persist with nasal CPAP treatment, further investigation and treatment for periodic limb movements of sleep is indicated.
Referral to an ENT consultant for further assessment may also be of clinical benefit to this patient.
Summary
Sleep time: 4.6hrs
Awakenings: 14
# REM periods: 2
Stage I: 14.8% of time - normal
Stage II: 61.3% of time - normal
Stage III: 11.4% of time - normal
Stage IV (deep sleep: 0% - not normal!
REM: 12.6% of time - normal
Snoring: snored while on my back and right side. Didn't sleep on my left.
Oxygen levels: Dropped 11%. Anything over 5% is not normal.
Limb movement: NREM: 50 times - restless trying to fall asleep.
Arousals: 16 per hour - I think this is when something makes me shift from different stages.
So my next step is to see an ENT specialist. To see if I have a diviated septum or need some sort of surgery on my nose to allow more air flow. When I sleep, I open my mouth, which in turn causes the mild snoring, and reduces my oxygen levels.'Cause sometimes you just feel tired, you feel weak
And when you feel weak you feel like you want to just give up
But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength

Interesting. Not sure if I understood all of that but interesting. At least you finally got the results eh. So not getting enough air is what might be causing you to be so restless?
0% deep sleep. Wow.
What's an ENT?
Is that leg movement thing like muscle spasms? My bf always twitches during the night and doesn't even notice it. Sometimes he like swings his arm. It's weird.Control it or it will control you

Yeah, I made sure I got a copy of my results too.
Yeah, he said my oxygen levels dipped too low. I do wake up a lot feeling stuffy.
ENT is ear, nose and throat specialist.
I don't think it's muscle spasms, I think I just move around a lot trying to get comfortable. And I often jump just before I fall asleep, like I fell or something. I actually picture myself falling too, down stairs, or something.'Cause sometimes you just feel tired, you feel weak

Could you wear one of those masks that the people with sleep apnea wear to help get oxygen to you?

Interesting about the sleep study. Hopefully they can come up with something that works for ya! One of my best friend's husbands has sleep apnea and had to sleep with the mask thingy. Although recently he hasn't, I think he's been taking some sort of medication or something, I'll have to ask her.

Hey April! thanks for posting about the sleep assessment. I am trying to remember how long people are usually in REM sleep - I don't remember what 'normal' is...
I hope the ENT finds something out for you!
And if you ever want to talk about anything - remember you can always PM me. As I remember, we had a lot in common in our craziness

A sleep cycle is 90 mins long. This is what I found for the amount of time you should be in each cycle. Not sure how many mins I was in each stage though....
Stage I - 10 mins
Stage II - 20 mins
Stage III - 30-40 mins
Stage IV - 15-30 mins
REM - 20-30% of total sleep time'Cause sometimes you just feel tired, you feel weak

I would think that a mask would be better than medication.
Only because medication is usually more permanent, and synthetic...whereas the mask is just kind of like...a less invasive ventilator.
