    Best Contest Diet

    Hey everyone ...

I'm working towards my first contest (7 weeks out) and am interested in what diets have worked for the majority of you. I tend to favour moderation in my diets, and that has paid off so far, but I'm looking for some input as far as what you others do. Also interested in any little tricks of the trade that can really make a difference when hopping up onstage (I've already read about the Prep-H!)

    Thanks

    Contact Beverly International

I would contact Beverly International at www.bodybuildingworld.com and click on FAXBACK DIET. Click on "page" and then fill in the information on the form. Email it back to them at BevNut@aol.com and they will set you up on a customized diet. They have worked with thousands of bodybuilders getting ready for contests and their clients usually win. The best part is that this advice is all FREE! They would like you to use their supplements though, but their stuff works very well. If you are serious about doing well, contact them.

It is important to understand that everyone has a different basil metabolic rate. The following is my pre-contest diet plan. This plan works for me. I am 6 weeks out and have an appointment on October 21st at Rutgers sports med lab to get hydrostatic weighing. I am aiming for 5% fat...

    Immediately Following Workout
 1 Protein Shake containing 40 to 50 Grams of Protein
 1 Scoop of Ultra Fuel Powder “Twinlab”
     5 – 10 Grams of Creatine

    6
    Late Night Snack 8:00 – 9:00 p.m.
     1000 Milligram Vitamin C
     6 Egg White’s
     Green beans, Broccoli, etc.
     1 tsp. Flaxseed Oil

    VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:

 Meals Must be 3 to 4 hours apart
 Once this stage has begun you must adhere to the plan EVERY DAY of the week.
 WATER: Reduce to 1 gallon per day until the last week. Then water intake will be reduced daily.
 During the day before the show you may only have a pre-measured amount of Ice chips depending on how much water needs to be reduced.

Why would you reduce water intake?

I drink 2.5-3 Gal/day until 4 days out then I start reducing water every day, as cut sodium and start taking potasium 99mgs every 2 hours.

I don't beleive in severe crashing of any kind. In fact I wont even be carb depleting / loading as the timing is never perfect. Even for the same person from event to event the timing can shift. Therefore, slowly reduce my levels e.g. water intake, calories, nutrient breakdown, and sodium level. Beleive it or not the "I can't beleive its not butter" SPRAY has been a good source of sodium replacement as it is high in K.

Like I mentioned earlier this is what works for me.
