Well you can do whatever you want. However as a replacement these exercises work the shoulder differently. The arnold press works more for the anterior deltoids and the behind the neck press works more for the mid/rear deltoids and traps. For traps you can try shrugs and for rear delts you can do bent over lateral raises.

no - it's a piss poor movement (in terms of r/c safety)

if you don't like btn, don't do it - keep it to the front.

if you don't like militiary pressing, try other variations like clean+press and scott press and push press, etc... etc...

Arnold presses are grest if you have the focus to keep proper form throughout the movement. They are very easy to cheat on but you won't get much out of them if you do.
Behind the neck presses are just danerous for many people.

    lmao

btn isn't dangerous if you've developed shoulder girdle flexibility

arnold press is dangerous reagrdless of form....shifting shoulders through those planes with that much weight, regardless of goodness of form, is dangerous. period.

I thought the arnold press was the scott press. Arnold didn't invent it, Larry Scott did, arnold just made it popular. Like the Scott curl(preacher curl).

i also remember reading somewhere that for a scott press you push the dumbell's up and to the side slightly (like a v) rather than straight up and down???
I have been Michael's number two guy for about five years, and we make a great team. We're like one of those classic famous teams. He's like Mozart and I'm like Mozart's friend. No, I'm like Butch Cassidy and Michael is like Mozart. You try and hurt Mozart, you're gonna get a bullet in your head, courtesy of Butch Cassidy.

that'll happen naturally since you're holding them off the ends.

arnold press has lead to tons of injurd shoulders since it is not a logical movement, if u cannot lower the bar right down to your neck when doing btn then dont do them. so many guys will bring the bar down only to ears with way more weight than they can properly handle. this never develpos anything but strength.
