    Talking High School Tight End

Does anybody know the average forty yard dash time for a High School tightend? I know someone made an article about Fullbacks, so if anybody knows the 40 time I would appreciate it!!!!

I don't know the average but at my school we have two upperclassmen tight ends. One is more of a receiver type and runs sub 4.7 the other guy who is taller, bigger, and blocks more last I remember ran something like a 4.88.

I think it really depends on the type of offense your school runs. Some guys who are super quick might be small, and in a running offense he wouldn't be too great. I would look for something 4.6-4.8.

I know our tight ends run like 4.5s

Bull****. 4.5 would be EXTREMELY fast for an NFL tightend... much less multiply HS TE's on the same team...

mostly higher 4.5s. we are a passing team, so our TEs are more like wings.

You mother****ers must be out your damn minds...4.5's for high school tight end's? Thats rb and wr speed. D-1 prospect tight ends will probably average 4.8 something...a fast one could get 4.7, and maybe one in a million could get 4.5...NFL tight ends run 4.5-4.6's...anyways, I play tight end, I run a 5.06, I play mostly JV, and a little varsity. If I shaved my excess fat off, I'm sure I could get a 4.9 at least...peace!

what he said.... 4.9-low 5s is what i would consider average for a starting quality high school tight end, anyone whjo claims there tight ends (notice he said more than one of them) run around a 4.5 is completely mistaken or is just lying if ur TE runs a 4.5 he better have D-1 offers up the ***, so basicaly ur claiming u have two D-1 quality TEs on ur team, and not jus any D-1 TE most likely the fastest in the country.... ur full of it , 4.7 mayb but still hed b a very good player much much better than average

5.0 is around average I would say. An NFL tight end may run a 4.5, but it's highly doubtful that a high school tight end would come close unless they are a top prospect or a receiver playing the wrong position.

Our HS tight ends ran 4.8-5.1s anywhere inbetween.

Our starter ran around a 5.0.
