What happens if you eat high proten, but maintain low calories?

    Hey guys,

A little background. I'm 5'10", 173lbs. I'm looking to drop about 10 lbs of fat and maintain being muscular.

I see all these sites...some say you CAN cut and bulk if you eat right. Others say you cant gain muscle on lower cals because the body needs the cals to burn.

So what happens if I maintain a 1500-1800 calorie diet that gets me over 175g of protein. (2 isopure shakes with 1% milk, tuna or turkey sandwich, cottage cheese)

Will I gain muscle because of the protein or do I still need those cals? If I need em, should I cut first or try to gain my muscle first?

    Thanks in advance!

    -Ryan
