    why am i making this a big deal?

    i dont feel all that good today..got a sore throat and a little cough. i definately am going to lift and lift hard, but i dont feel like doing my pre and postworkout runs today...preworkout is just a jog for .8miles and postworkout is a jog for about 1.2 miles...i want to eliminate these for a day or two just so i can recoup as far as my health goes but ill still be lifitng...is it a big deal, thanks guys.

    I nearly always feel better after 5-10 minutes of a warmup jog when I have a bit of a cold.

    Some doctor said on TV yesterday that when patients took 8000mg of Vitamin C during the onset of the cold, the cold vanished. 8000mg seems like quite a bit. I mean, was that one sitting or what? ...'cause your body wouldn't absorb that much at one time.

    Anyway, despite what the crackhead said, some extra Vitamin C might help.

    i was going to say get vitamin c too. i don`t know about 8000mg`s but at least several pieces of citrus fruit a day.

    also thera-flu cough and cold work wonders

    Also, with respect to short-term versus long-term, it's up to the individual to decide. Resting one or two days so that you can work out indefinitely is better than forcing it today and missing four days.

    Again, it's important to know thy body as best you can.

    Listen to your body! If it needs rest, give it rest. If you don't feel like runing, don't run. Everytime I push my body hard during a cold, it takes twice as long to get over, and I end up with crappy technique and low reps as the result.

    8000mg would be like over 100 pieces of citrus fruit. I take 1000mg every day and plan on trying this 6000-9000mg next time I start to get a cold. Too bad ever since I started eating clean I've only gotten sick once, and you could barely call that time getting sick.
