    Calcium deposit in knee

I twisted my knee playing softball on the fourth of July It popped out of the socket and then went back in place. It was/is swollen and over time developed a calcium deposit on the right side of me knee cap. It could move from there to on top of my knee cap if I pushed it under my skin. It being there prevented me from bending my knee all the way. I wore a nice knee brace up until now. One morning I woke up and the calcium deposit was under my knee cap and I couldn't extend my knee. I had to get crutches at the ER because I couldn't walk. I am seeing an othropedist on Wednesday. I didn't have insurance, that's why I didn't see a doctor before I had the deposit move. I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered such a problem? My knee seems to be getting stronger by the day and is in no pain, only when I try to extend it because it presses against the calcium. Any help or reassurance that it will be all right? This injury is killing me inside.

Well I'm fairly certain there is a way to treat it, i'm not 100% sure how though.
Once I was hit fairly hard in the thigh, which caused internal bleeding. The bleeding then dried up and calcium deposits formed. I lost alot of mobility and strength in my leg. I went to physiotherapy and they used ultrasound massage, and some type of electro-stimulation. It helped break down the calcium deposits, and about 4 weeks later (about 8 weeks total from the time of the incident) I was fine. Not exactly the same thing, but similar.
hope you get some reassurance from this
    good luck

    Thanks so much!!!

Your problem sounds even worse than mine, more than one calcium deposit. It only hurts when my knee goes against it, so I know its the problem. Thank you so much, I will wait as long as I know it can be fixed. I really didn't think anyone would reply to that.

    Unhappy Calcium Deposit

Im 17 years old, senior, I developed a calcium deposit below my knee in 7th grade (Im guessing its from a football injury that year). I was told the only way to get rid of it is through surgery, but I can't afford it. Anyone know what I can do?
