I was wondering how accurate the scales that calculate your body fat and water level are. I want to start a log to keep track of my progress so I need to get accurate readings of my body fat percentage. When I had my body fat measured, it took me in as 14.5% before dinner, 25.5% after dinner, and 15 % this morning before I ate anything. Are these changes typical to body fat percentages, or are the readings erroneous?
The packaging the scale came in says it uses "BIA technology" to calculate fat percentages, which sends a harmless signal through your body.
So, compared to a caliper, just how accurate are these scales?
EDIT: Is this the right place to post this thread?
