cal62887 Puts CON-CRET to the test

This thread is being started 30-40 days before I actually start taking this supplement. Why start so early? I've been taking creatine for roughly two years or so with no cycle (proof provided here: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showpo...43&postcount=4) I am also addicted to supplements (proof provided here:
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showpo...03&postcount=6) So I am starting this thread early to say that I am going to be taking the next 30-40 days off of creatine so that I can give this product a true trial without my body already being saturated (or at least have myself start out less saturated than I am now)....This is all because one of the claims of this product is "Highly Concentrated: No Loading, No Side-Effects*". It also claims that I should be looking for it to kick in around 2-4 for full effect.

So all-in-all this thread is being started as motivation to put down the creatine so that this supplement log is a no BS....

So let me give you a brief overview of myself, my training, and my goals...

Name: Conor
Age: 20
Height: 6'2
Weight: 175
My Progress pics:
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showpo...53&postcount=1

My diet is pretty consistently healthy and primarily clean foods:

Oats
Peanut Butter
Chicken/Tuna/Steak/Eggs/Cottage Cheese
Whey/Casein/Egg Whites
Fruits: Bananas and Blueberries mostly
Veggies: Broccoli

My magical food would have to be Quinoa:

http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/item/20035.html

My Calories stay around 3,250 per day and that seems to be a good balance for a constant clean bulk...depending on where my body fat lays I may up or lower the calories by week.

2 gallons of water per day....

Supplements:

My STAPLES:

Whey/Casein
Multi
EFA
BoneBoost

Training:

Very eclectic and no real set regiment although I tend to follow a schedule similar to the following:
1-Chest
2-Back
3-Shoulders
4-Arms
5-Legs
....I do what I feel I can do and I push myself constantly. I listen to my body and aslong as my diet is doing well, my training seems to follow and I seem to progress. I lift 5 days a week and the other two days I spend time rock climbing, Biking, Basketball, Football, or just playing with my Dog.

GOALS: Bigger, Faster, Stronger.....

Initial Reaction:
-Wow...a 1/4 of a teaspoon really isn't that much
-This product looks like it would be good for those on a cut since it has no calories
-No bloat/Side effects may be good for those who hate Monohydrate due to the water-weight and bloat.

HOW IT WORKS

CON‐CR?T was designed for those that are serious about their conditioning and want a competitive advantage. Many athletes have tried creatine and experienced the strength, mass and muscle it can provide, but don't like its negative side effects.

Th CON‐CR?T molecule is a technological breakthrough that is the result of four years of corporate research, Division 1-A university laboratory development, and real-world testing. This effort produced a highly concentrated form of creatine where the need for loading is eliminated and the overall dose required is significantly low.

Creatine is directly involved in the body's energy production, protein synthesis (muscle building) and neuro-muscular function. In addition, it is naturally found in the body and supplied through the consumption of certain foods.

Most commercially available creatines have been inefficient in recharging adenosine triphosphate (ATP) - until CON‐CR?T. The unique and natural molecular design introduces the most potent and bio-available creatine to this process, resulting in significant strength, mass, endurance and recovery without side effects.

Creatine is a critical component of the body's process of storing and using ATP as energy. Creatine helps recharge ATP after it has expended phosphate molecules and becomes adenosine diphosphate (ADP) in the normal process of work or exercise.

As ATP loses a phosphate in this process and becomes the bio-inactive molecule adenosine diphosphate (ADP), creatine assists by replenishing ADP with a phosphate creating the useful ATP thereby increasing energy output.

DISCLAIMER: I am not going to try and explain to you HOW this works but rather IF it works. If you want to read the research you can visit the website HERE but I am merely here to give my honest feedback

The log theme songs will either be CON-CRET Jungle

or if you're into the mellow-rap vibe

CON-CRET Schoolyard

I'll overtrain if I don't split it up like that. Every once in a while I'll work two body parts but I find that by varying up reps/sets, proper resting time, and being able to incorporate different workouts into a regiment you can get quite the growth by having a split routine.

What does your routine consist of?

I like my program right now, its totally kicking my ass.

All numbers are reps.
Letters are alternations.

3on 2off

Day 1:

a.Flat benchpress b.Incline Barbell press c.flat barbell press 12, 8, 6, 6

a.Normal squats b.Front squats c.Leg press 12, 10, 5, 5

Day 2:

Arms and Deadlifts and sprints(I wing this one)

Day 3:

a.Clean and press b.Military press c.Virticle press

a.Bent over rows b.Chin-ups c.Wide grip chins d.Bent over lat raises e.Shrugs

I know it looks really simple, but thats the whole point, I alternate the excersizes and its working better than the textbook ripttoes routine for me.

Edit: okay its more complicated than that, im just too lazy to explain it all.

^^^^ Looks like a great routine. When it comes to workouts it's basically what you enjoy coupled with what works best for you. IMO, drop the BB flat bench and you're on the road to enlightenment... Try playing with several angles/inclines and look into the "Fly-Press".

Deadlifts and Sprints on the same day you've got a death-wish my friend. That must be a rough day !

Well it seems as though CON-CRET is taking a whole different approach to this creatine thing.... I've done some research and will continue doing a lot of research on this product but the best explanation that i've received so far is this: When cell-phones first came out, they were bulky and unattractive and as technology grew, cellphones became smaller/sleeker and more efficient.

If creatine seems to be less effective for you than most, CON-CRET may be something to look into.... I'll PM you a good link for some quality info.

There's alot being said about this Con-cret creatine, but I don't see much in the way of science. Checked out the website. All I can figure out is it is conjugated creatine and you take a smaller serving than most other creatines.
Anything more to share? Anyone?

If creatine seems to be less effective for you than most, CON-CRET may be something to look into.... I'll PM you a good link for some quality info.
Thanks a lot i'm listening to it during half time (right now)

The science area isn't really my field of knowledge. I know my body well, I know how to train, and I'm honest. I'll be able to tell you how I feel and be able to separate the effects of the creatine (or the lack thereof) and perhaps just a good training day, the obvious weight gain and strength gain from a calorie surplus (which i plan to be on). In other words, I won't up my calories, sleep 9 hours the night before, and take 400 mgs of Caffeine and say that CON-CRET was the thank for a good workout. this log is more of a long-term/overall review of the product rather than individual days, although I will be logging individual days.

It would be nice to have another quality creatine on the market. I have no expectations or biases. I was given this product by the Co-founder but I told him straight up that I'm not going to take it into consideration that it was free. I told him that if I didn't like it, that I was going to say so....he welcomed all challenges and stood by his product. So We'll see.

Thanks for subbing.

Creatine on a cut isn't a bad thing. In fact creatine while cutting can help shed some extra fat, preserve muscle, and keep energy/strength up.

YUP!!!

and they'll actually send it to you. I got mine a few weeks back but haven't cracked it open yet. They seem to be really confident in their product and unlike many companies that give creatine samples out for taste issues, Promera actually lets you feel the creatine work just in time for your sample to run out LOL.... talk about a blue-ball
