2 weeks out from first comp. Questions about diet.

Hi there,

Don't know if I'm posting this in the right section, also posted this in fitness competition but here goes... :-S

I am currently 16 days out from my first comp and really don't want to make any mistakes diet-wise. Since I have no experience of competing I thought I would post some questions here in hope of getting some answers from more experienced bb's.

Questions:

At two weeks out:

1) Is it still OK for me to eat salmon? Is it too high in cals/fat at this stage?

2) Dinner is chicken + broccoli + leafy salad (cucumber, tomatoes, bell pepper). Is this too much vegetables? Should I only stick to the broccoli or is the salad OK?

3) When I cook the chicken I marinade it in a little extra-virgin olive oil (1 tbsp) and add some spices (try to keep the sodium low to moderate).
Is this bad? Should I eat it without any marinade or spices now that I'm so close to comp?

4) I have been eating 1/2 apple before weights if I feel I need an extra boost. Do I need to eliminate all fruit or is this OK (it's the only serving of fruit in my diet)? What would be a good substitute for pre-workout snack at this stage?

Any help truly appreciated.

Most of my experience is with mens diets, but I think I can field these questions.

1) I think salmon is a good choice, the essential fats will help you to burn more fat

2) I think those veggies are fine , maybe limit the tomatoes

3) again olive oil can actually help you burn more fat, and dont worry about dropping your sodium etc til the last 3-4 days prior to your show

4) apples are low glycemic so u should be fine there too eating only 1/2 per day

hope this helps and good luck

Yes this helped a lot, and put my mind at ease. Thanks a million!!

I'm going to drop the tomatoes. Is there any reason for them not being good ? Just out of curiosity :-)

You don't need to drop em, its just they have more cals than the other veggies you listed. Just don't go hog wild on em is all.
