    incline and speed for HIIT cardio on the treadmill?

    Go outside and do some sprints. Treadmills just can't handle the speeds and rate changes required for a good HIIT workout.

    12+ mph to 3-4 mph in <2 seconds.

    I haven't had any problem with my treadmill and the little HIIT I've been doing. Maybe it's a situation of where beginners could get away with using a treadmill, but people who are more advanced or in better shape would outgrow it and require the actual outdoors? JM2CW...

    Outside on a track would be better. Try jogging the curves and sprinting the straight-aways and/or shuttle runs(jog 20 yds, sprint back 20, jog 40, sprint 40, jog 75 sprint 75, jog 100, sprint 100)
