I don't ever post here because I don't powerlift, but I recently came across a website about this guy Paul Anderson who died in 1994 that did a 6270 pound backlift. I've never heard of a backlift, anyone tell me what it is? Anyway apparently he was one of the strongest men ever. Anyone got any more info about him?

There is a really good article disputing that backlift. I'll try to find it...
A lot of people think the squat wasn't to parallel.
He was definitely EXTREMELY strong, but he's been exaggerated over time.My 100% free website: healthierwithscience.com

I can't believe how quickly I found that, lol.
If it doesn't explain what a backlift is, it's when there is a low table that you can barely fit yourself under, and you get it off the ground. My 100% free website: healthierwithscience.com

Here's an excellent site that explains it and other uncommon lifts. http://weightlifting.moonfruit.com/

backlift only has like a couple inches ROM right? Still, fuken crazy to be able to lift over 6000lbs off the ground
I love it when a mod makes a post in a thread, and instantly a bunch of other posters in the thread suck his dick. Thats f*ckin funny.

It looks like the Anderson record was challenged, and possibly (the article wasn't explicit) repealed by Guinness due to lack of supporting evidence. Instead a backlift preformed by Gregg Ernst in 1993 of 5,340 pounds was recognised in 2015.
Apologies for the bump (and the lack of url, my post count is too low), it's just reading about Paul Anderson and watching vids of him has been great fun and I wanted the end of the story to be included here too.
