Smile Lifting at a University Gym with Young'uns

So....(a few weeks ago)

I'm working out, and I've just finished a set, and am walking to the
water fountain when a 20ish guy working on the leg press machine
stops me and says "Damn, man! Were you, like, a professional
bodybuilder or something when you were in your prime?"

I paused for a second, and replied, "So...you mean to imply that I'm
not in my prime RIGHT NOW?"

He stammered and turned really red in the face, and i walked on to
the water fountain (i did this to throw him off and kind of let him think
about it).

He apologized, etc. - a REALLY nice kid, and now i talk to him all the time, but,for a while after this happened, though, when I'd see he I'm just smile and shake my head and go about my business, again, both to jibe him and make him think a bit about how he interacts with his "elders".

Don't get me wrong - it was a fantastic ego boost, because this young
man was no slouch himself, but sometimes it's fun to do that kind of
thing with the younger folk, sort of remind them that just because they're
arguably "in their prime" and that, perhaps, I'm not, I'm not dead yet and
I can still throw down (in the gym, at least). Luckily, most of the kids I've
met are VERY respectful, so I've no complaints, but sometimes the little
devil in me takes over.

Anyone else ever had something like this happen?

I was working out at a university gym with the young'uns not too long ago. I got called "Sir" on occasion. I'd like to think it was because of my awsome strength and physique but it was probably because of the gray hair.

Yeah, I get that a lot too, and most likely for the same reason. Eh.
I'm still not ready to take up end-of-life games, like golf ;-)
