Hey everyone.. ive been looking at a buncha arm workouts on the supersite and.. alotta these are complex as all hell.
Im 15.. and just wanted to add thickness and size to my arms.
Im planning on doing triceps and biceps on the same day although i have been doing them on opposite days.
Biceps- 4 sets straight bar curls 15,12,8,5
3 sets db hammer curls 3x8
3 sets db curls 3x8
Triceps- 3x8 close grip bench
3x8 dips when at school or between bench dips when at home
3x8 skull crushers when at school sitting overhead press at home
I could do extensions at home with a straight bar with the little ball bearing center also. No EZ bar at home and only up to 40 lb dbs, but do have the little bars to screw plates on so i can make bigger ones.
Anyone give me tips on how to combine these so i can do em in one day and make a plan for me? It doesnt have to have the same exercises... i just want a damn good plan(i wouldnt mind supersets)
Thanks a bunch

What you have looks good to me. I've always been a proponent of heavy compound exercises at the beginning of the workout and ending it with isolation exercises. So, for you biceps you could alternate some different types of curls after the compound BB curls. For instance alternate hammer curls or alt. curls with incline curls. Finishing off with an isolation exercise like db preacher or concentration.
Same thing pretty much for the triceps. I do my arms on one day as well. My workout tends to look like this:
BB curl (heavy)
Incline curls or Alt. curls
Preacher curls
Skullcrushers(bar or cable)
Seated French Press or Overhead DB extensions
Single arm pressdowns or reverse grip pressdowns
I stick to 10 to 12 total sets with a maximum of 45 seconds rest between sets. I hope that helps.Start of BB career: 10/1/03

What if i did like.. a set of BB curls then straight to between bench dips then straight to bb curls then straight to dips like that for four sets for each, 10 seconds of rest inbetween each exercise. Then do that for every exercise with like 3 minutes of rest inbetween circuts of ..exercise.

You can superset, but from my experience I just like to focus on the biceps at first then end the workout with triceps. It lets me put more energy into the muscle I'm exercising. If time is a concern then supersetting would be good.
When I supersetted it looked like this:
BB curl: 4 sets 4-8
ss.
Skullcrushers: 4 sets 6-10
Incline curls: 3 sets 8-10
ss
Overhead DB Extension: 3 sets 8-10
Preacher curls: 3 sets 8-12
ss
Cable Pressdowns: 3 sets 8-12
No rest in between supersets. Straight from bis to tris exercise. 60 to 90 seconds between full sets.Start of BB career: 10/1/03
