Defending homosexuality as a medical condition

I have to be in a debate/discussion in class next week on the topic of homosexuality becoming remedical, or being classified as a medical condition that can be/should be treated. Can you guys think of any points that can be used to defend this? (I didnt pick this side of the issue)

How does this explain why such a great deal of homosexuals become homosexual later in life, or even more profound, why so many college students suddenly become bisexual once they begin a liberal sex life? How does this explain why there are some (albeit not very many) people who were once homosexual but then turned away from it?

Do psychological conditions count as medical conditions? Because you can say that homosexualitycan be just as treatable as kleptomania.

And David said, "The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine." And Saul said to David, "Go, and may the Lord be with you." (1 Samuel 17:37)

Thus David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and he struck the Philistine and killed him; but there was no sword in David’s hand. (1 Samuel 17:50)

Did they become homosexual later in life....or admit later in life? There's a difference. I have never heard of anyone being homosexual then turning straight or vice versa....merely people "coming out of the closet"

of course, as with everything, there will ALWAYS be some RARE exceptions, but this doesn't mean that in 99.99% of the cases, that homosexuality is not a "choice".

and, by the way, keep in mind that just because someone might "choose" to commit a homosexual act doesn't neccesarily mean they actually are NATURALLY attracted to someone of the same sex anyways, which is what the definition of homosexuality is in the first place.

Oh yes, there are people that became gay then became straight again. The people that were once gay and became straight are quite eager to admit that homosexuality is a choice; though I suppose one can always deny it and say that they are all lying.

So it's just coincidence that the gay community is enormously more promiscuous than the mainstream heterosexual population? Coincidence that they usually conveniently 'come out of the closet' once they begin a sexually liberal lifestyle in college and shortly after college? Or that men that once dated and had sex with women in high school start to have sexual relations with both women and other men?

    they probably aren't.

it just seems that way because some of them are very vocal because of the stigma that they face, so they try to rebel against it.

you know, other than all of those san fransisco events, what else would lead you to beleive that homosexuals are "much more prone to be promiscuous"?

Is that supposed to be a comeback? That's how Muslims deal with convicted homosexuals. I'm Muslim, remember, so that's what I endorse. Right now I'm giving you the Beatitude cold stare of disapproval.

You haven't given me reason to believe X is highly inclined to be Y in the first place

Surveys have been done on the number of sexual partners the average homosexual male has per year. I'm sure you can find it and reference it here.
*** There is no one free of all need, of whom all else are in absolute need, but God ***

Pbuh: If anyone testifies that None has the right to be worshipped but God Alone Who has no partners, and that Muhammad is His Servant and His Apostle, and that Jesus is God's Servant and His Apostle and His Word which He bestowed on Mary and a Spirit created by Him, and that Paradise is true, and Hell is true, God will admit him into Paradise

kajara3 is a fine young lad, i don't see why you would want to ignore him or her.

well, you seem to be new here, so it is understandable.

or, perhaps you were a lurker before you decided to start posting in the religion and politics section of this forum?
