I took 1/2 a day off from work coz I was feeling ****ty from a cold.
Should I still go to the gym and lift weights or should I skip it?

I would rest. I tried doing it once while sick, not only was i not able to work as hard, I felt even worse the next couple of days. Drink plenty of fluids and lots of sleep and hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow.

ive made this mistake a couple of times because you dont wana miss a day and you think you feel well enough... but like an above poster said it makes me feel WORSE for like 2-3 more days..
you will end up missing more than if you just rest right now...

When I used to workout at the gym on a cold I might as well have stayed home. My workout is subpar to a degree that post workout I feel worse then when I went into the gym, mainly because mentally nobody likes a 1/2 arse workout. Take the mental issue and the actual cold...I just rest at home now. One day wont make or break you.
Good luck in recouping.

Nope.
The last time I worked out while I was sick(bad cold), I had a GREAT workout. But by the time I got in my car and sat in it, I passed out. I felt as though I was going in and out of consciousness, and it took me a while to recover enough to drive out of there(30 mintues). And the others are right - it only makes things worse for the following days.

Like everyone above me said, It depends on you... Although when I have a cold I tend to feel better after a workout.

Nah don't, if you workout you you's all your strength and weakin your immune system so it takes even longer to get over the cold.

I had a cold exactly a year ago, but thought I could still lift through it.
By the end December, I had to see the doctor because I had been sick for 10 weeks straight. 10. full. weeks. Fever, headache, chills, congested nose, coughs, sneeze, etc....
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Wait until you are better. Your body will only recover more slowly if you exercise.

Just rest. 1 day off training won't make a difference. And you'll feel better tomorrow.

Like everyone else mentioned, rest is more important when you're sick. For example right now I have the flu, so I haven't trained for a week.

Damnit, I was feeling like **** today. I still got some form of cold/flu.
Anyhow today was my normal Leg day but I just didn't have the energy for it and I was feeling like crap.
So I skipped it.
I feel terrible for skipping a work out
I probably could have done legs today, however, I would've been weaker and I might have injured myself and I might have passed out in the gym.
