Temporary Sticky: Jamie Hale's new book
Hello folks. I'm excited for a colleague of mine named Jamie Hale, who just released his latest book entitled "Knowledge & Nonsense: The Science of Nutrition and Exercise". I wrote the foreword of the book, but I make no affiliate dollars whatsoever from its sales.
K&N is nearly 500 pages of great info that you'll actually get smarter for having read. Jamie's an amazing dude who you can learn a ton from, & that's me speaking from personal experience. Here's the link, dig in, thank me later:

Thanks Alan
does the book contain bb nutrition?
Answer: if bb nutr means factual information the can enhance physique levels and skip through the BS sure it does. There is an entire chapter dedicated to bb Nutrition Roundtable featuring Alan Aragon, Layne Norton, Justin Harris, Bryan Haycock, Dan Moore, Martin Berkhan (a.k.a. Work) Will Brink and myself. Over 40 diets are covered in the book. I also highlight one of the most significant reviews ever conducted in the nutrition industry Popular Diets : A scientific Review by Freedman et. al. A chapter is also featured titled Training for Skeletal Muscular Growth.
would the book be over my head?
Answer: no the book is geared towards exercise and nutrition professionals as well as complete beginners. I give suggestions in the books intro for proper use of the book. There is no reason the book has to be read in a specific order. Beginners should read the basics sections first. Maybe even refer to some of the sources cited in the book for further info. Everyone can benefit from this book. Advanced to complete beginner. This book will equip you with the tools you need to spot fitness quackjobs and carry on intelligent conversation with most anyone regarding exercise and nutrition.
do Alan and I share common views about nutrition?
Answer: I think Alan would agree our views are almost identical. We speak on a daily basis. He provides me with Reserach data i have not seen and i do the same in return. Alan has proven to be a serious source of info for myself. Alan and Dan Moore were actually the ones who emphasized me the most to make this book massive and so in-depth.
Later today the index will be posted to the book on the site as well.
I will post the link once it is published. I can answer any other questions related to the book as well.
Everyone thanks for your interest.
Any feedback on the new site www.maxcondition.com
and new book are appreciated.
Thanks,
J Hale

Negged for advertising.
Has your book gotten cheaper yet Alan? (Yes cheap, yes whey protein prices have gone up to more than milk at this point)

I don't consider it advertising when you have a friend who's whole life is dedicated to educating folks puts out a great book & you simply alert people to it in a non-obnoxious way.
Anyway, if you think my book is too expensive, then start a savings account for it, sock away 10% of your earnings every month. I'm sure you'll be able to afford it in a couple years or so, the info should still be solid .

Yes sir. No publisher shall ever own a piece of me... Unless maybe they're willing to put me on Oprah.

carb cycling
The book discusses various cyclical ketogenic diets. It also gives a detailed description of exactly what occurs during ketosis and an definite definition for ketosis.
The book distinguishes different types of keto diets (including standard, cyclical, and targeted)
Health concerns with keto diets and the facts
Glycogen supercompensation and what science says? My own experiences and observations concerning glycogen supercomp and it's effects on physique and performance.
Do Bbers really need to carb load or do they need to simply boost insulin (increases vasodilation)? Book covers this in-depth.
thanks,
Jamie Hale
