is a 5-day split good enough to build muscle?

rite now im using a 3day split (chest/bi, back/tri, legs/shoulders/traps) and repeating it twice a week for a total of 6 days..

in the teen bodybuilding article by derek charlebois' he uses a 5 day split..
    http://www.teenbodybuilding.com/derekbulk1.htm

is it sufficient to work each body part only one time a week or is it better to do it my way and do each bodypart twice a week?

ps.. im looking to put on serious mass

I prefer hitting each muscle group several times a week... but training 6 days a week is too much for most people

    try a 3 day a week full body setup or a 4 day a week upper/lower split

I agree. Training 6 days a week is most likely not a good idea, but if you are getting good results then stick with what you are doing.

Personally, I believe hitting a muscle group 2-3x a week is best, but you should do this by training with a 3 day full body routine or an 3-4 day upper/lower body split. Check out this article for more info...
