Body Detox/Cleanse
So I was reading in Milfnation's journal that she was thinking of doing a detox. This is something that I have thought of doing for a while now, but I have no idea where to start. I thought I would post in here to see if anyone else has had any experience with this.
I have read a bunch of different things and there is so much conflicting information. I have read that doing a juice/liquid detox is the only way to go. Then I have read that taking certain pills/liquids while continuing on with your regular eating habits is just as effective.
I have also checked different packages at the health food stores and have noticed that there are different types of detox programs (liver, digestive, etc).
Can anyone help me to clarify all of this?

Do natural detoxes that cleanse your ograns, starting with a colon cleanse to clear the path for other detoxes. (liver/gallbladder, Candidia...)
Some people say just eat clean and that'll be enough for a detox, but I don't agree with that. Most people have years and years of gunk built up in their body, and simply eating clean won't purge years of large amounts of man-made chemicals.
Think of if this way... Greasy dishes don't get clean without soap and hot water. Years of built up toxins in your body need to be cleaned out with the right detox formulas.

A starting detox is a colon cleanse. I did the 7DMC and liked it a lot. It purges out parasites before the acutal cleanse takes place. The Duel Action Cleanse seems to be of quality, too. Although, they are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Correct me if I am wrong, but are saunas considered a form of detox?

Saunas make you sweat, which can effect a mild detoxifying effect, but this is not the type of cleanse you're probably looking for at this point. I've done a number of organ cleanses myself, and agree with Ms. Fit that a colon cleanse is probably one of the first things to look into if you're a "newbie", although juice fasts and et cetera work quite well hand-in-hand with enemas and the like. You might want to check out Bruce Fife's "The Detox Book" from your local library and read through that, if you want a good overview of the various body and organ cleanses. I've found that book to be particularly helpful while researching the general subject.

I would go the natural root if I were you simply because if you are going to do a detox why would you want to put something into your body that isn't.
If you are going to do then think about eating fruit and veg.
Drink lots of water and if you are going to give up tea and coffee you will get a headache from the detox of the caffeine. If you are going to do this over a period of a week the headache will last around three days...this was my experience anyways
hope this helps
also I agree with the above post - whilst sauna's make you sweat it's only a mild detox process for the skin.
